Hi Everyone, I’m sorry to say that we have no lamb this year but would like to give our heartfelt thanks to all our customers xx especially the regular customers Thank You ❤️ We have a few reasons for this, firstly Tillytots x she’s 19 years old and retired 5 years ago. When we have to separate her from the flock for 2 months while the Ram is in she misses her friends even though we always leave Silvi in with her, who she’s closest to. When they ram goes home and the flock are reunited, the younger ones get boisterous and Tilly keeps getting knocked over 😞 The other reason is that since beating cancer with a switch to a sugar free, plant based diet, we very very rarely eat meat and only if it’s organic and hasn’t been pumped full of antibiotics. Despite meeting the requirements of an organic product, (because I use oregano oil as an antibiotic and it works every time x) we’re not “certified” because the government, bless ‘em 🤔 make it ridiculously difficult. Despite that, We have decided to give the flock a break while Tilly is with us. Tilly goes to bed every night in her own bedroom in the barn, where she has everything she needs including a mineral block and this also means that she can have breakfast and dinner with added alfalfa, rather than trying to sneak her secret breakfasts while the rest of the girls are out in the big paddock. When it’s wet she’s wears her coat - a calf jacket which fits her perfectly! I’m hoping most people understand and don’t think I’m crazy for caring so much 🥰🥰

Due to health reasons (both us and our ewes), we decided to give them a health gap year and so our next lamb orders can be taken for Nov 2022. Thank you to all our customers who continue to support Rare Breeds and small farmers who are considerately and lovingly rearing happy, stress free, antibiotic free, grass fed, delicious quality lamb. The ewes look really well for their holiday and even our two 16 year olds have improved their condition and are happily spending their summer grazing, wandering and sleeping. That's Tilly at the front, she's 16 and still loves salted crisps xx

All lambs Clik'd and wormed apart from Suzie's twins (our Boreray). Still as skittish as ever, if she thinks her lambs are in danger she will run and they will be stuck to her side like glue. You can't fault for being a good Mum. We'll just have to be a bit quicker next time we feed to catch them and make sure they're protected.
