How the Name “Ziggy’s” Came About
When Denise and I bought our first home together, my mum gifted us a Doberman Pinscher as a moving-in present. Her kennel club name was “Zeiger it’s Snowing,” and we lovingly shortened it to “Ziggy.”
I spent 25 years as a builder, but a serious accident on the job ended my career. After roughly two years of healing, I found myself uncertain about my next career path. My mum, always supportive, suggested I return to catering, a field I had worked in for about six years after leaving school.
One day, while walking the dogs around Lilyhill, my mum asked someone where she could get a coffee. That simple question planted the idea for a mobile coffee trailer. We applied to Bracknell Forest Council and began the journey to open our trailer there.
Tragically, my mum passed away the week before we opened. In her honor, we decided to name the trailer after our beloved dog, Ziggy, who my mum had given us. And that’s how the name “Ziggy’s”came to be.
This was her last journey & it’s so fitting that it snowed.
