First day -> last day.

Four seasons,

Three babies (ours, and two lovely members of staff),

Three parasols lost to the wind,

Endless coats of paint (blue, then green),

An endless to-do-list, never completed,

One epic, epic Manager, really the other third of the cafe (that’s you, ),

A gorgeous handful of can’t-believe-our-luck incredible members of staff, whose love, creativity and hard work created this place, too.

A big old bunch of fabulous regulars who we will truly, deeply, miss serving,

Some big fights,

Some big highs,

Some life-altering decisions,

Some seriously good times,

Some heartbreak…

Who can put this business into words, certainly not me. I can’t believe the provide of having taken care of this building, and having the gift of all the lessons I’m taking away with me. The insight, the work ethic, the perspective this adventure has gifted me, is something I will be forever grateful for.

Soon, we’ll be handing over the keys (and this Instagram account!) to the new owners, so if you want to stay on with mine and Will’s adventures, follow:

⏰ COCKTAILS AND CHIPS WILL NOW TAKE PLACE THIS FRIDAY, 13th December, on the same date as rearranged Christmas Lights switch-on in Boscastle.

I’d love you to help me to spread the word about this rescheduled final event at the cafe: the Christmas Lights switch-on is such a beautiful way to ring-in the festive season, and this event, which we’ll be holding for our fourth and final time, has always felt incredibly special to us.

This evening has always been filled with our lovely local regulars, gathering together for a final time before we close for good over the winter — and this year, closing for good “full stop”.

Come and celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season, and the beginning of a new chapter (for all of us) x

‼️DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS, we must postpone our final big farewell to the cafe!

We will reschedule this event in-line with the rescheduled date for the Boscastle Christmas Lights switch-on date.

LAST FAREWELL EVENTS!

As we prepare the close the doors on this chapter in the beautiful Harbour Light building’s life, we’ve two final events to share with you.

First up, on Friday 6th December, from 6.30PM – COCKTAILS & CHIPS!

We will be serving up the most decadent, delicious bowls of homemade chips – in our opinion, the perfect food to eat after you’ve been stood out in the cold with friends and family to watch the lobster-pot Christmas tree being lit up in all its glory!

Of course, alongside these, we’ll have a generous list of original and classic cocktails – plus mulled wine & apple juice and (natch) home-made mince pies.

No need to book this one – just wander down to the bottom of the harbour after the Christmas lights have been switched on!

And finally, on Sunday 8th December, from 10AM-1PM – “LET THAT SH*T GO // IT’S TIME TO EVOLVE (£32 per ticket)

If you’ve been following my other two projects, & , you’ll know that over last winter, I retrained as a Life & Success Coach, and now work with founders who want to build fulfilling, heart-led businesses while maintaining work-life balance (bet you can’t guess why…)

Having coached dozens of clients, both in 1-1 and group settings, I am delighted to be using the cafe for one last group workshop before I hand over the keys!

This workshop is designed to help you to take stock, reflect on your wins of 2024, and identify what you’re ready to let go of, in order to evolve into the newest, truest, version of you.

This is not only a poignant way for me to bid farewell to my first business; it is also an opportunity for me to share much of what I have learnt in the last four years of business ownership with a group of people who have deeply supported that journey.

Some news (I’d love you to read…)

It has been something of an “open secret” over the last month or so that after 4 seasons, the cafe is being put up for sale over this winter. If this is the first you’re hearing of this, let me give you a virtual hug and tell you how much your support over the last 4 seasons has meant to me, and to us. 💚

Our last day of regular service will be next Sunday, 3rd November.

It’s hard to summarise in a caption the breadth of experiences I, and the incredible TGS team, have had in this building. We’ve held each other in tears, and giggled till we cried, too. We’ve danced, we’ve scrubbed, we’ve poured, we’ve LIVED in this building. What an honour that has been.

Every single member of staff who has worked here has contributed to what it has become, and I could not be prouder of that. We set out to build something that honoured its staff members, its supply chain, and the planet — and I will always celebrate the ways in which we did this.

This is not a sad post, this is a joyful one: it’s time for a new adventure, for all of us.

The cafe is now up for sale, and so if you want to have a snoop you can find it advertised in all the places you’d expect.

The Good Stuff spotted in 👀

How is it this time of year already?!? 🍂🍁

We’ve one month left of our regular opening hours and days (with slightly shorter days now, as we begin to wind down). Come and join us for “one more cup of coffee for the road” ☕️☕️☕️

As usual, TGS will be closing its doors for the winter period but ALSO as usual, we’ve got some lovely one-off events brewing for that period.
