Thank you all so much for an absolutely cracking week! 🙌 Another busy day done, and I can confirm I am now officially broken, stiff and held together by caffeine and sheer determination 😂

I’m off for a quick nap… although “quick” is probably optimistic. If anyone needs me, I’ll be horizontal, ignoring my responsibilities and pretending Monday doesn’t exist. 😴😂

Hope you all have a brilliant weekend! Put your feet up, recharge and enjoy the peace while it lasts…

Because we’ll all be back bright and early from 9am Monday morning 🌄 — fresh as daisies… or at least pretending to be! 😂

☀️ THE THURSDAY BREAKFAST APOCALYPSE ☀️

Well… today started beautifully. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and then the customers arrived by the bus load. Literally. 😂

Apparently, when the sun comes out, everyone collectively thinks, “Let’s go out for breakfast and absolutely test this woman’s mental stability.” 😂

And there I was…

Me. Myself. And I.

Three people in one body, none of us qualified for what was about to happen. 🤣

Eggs were splatting.
Breakfasts were flying.
Burgers were being launched.
Plates were appearing from nowhere.
And I was sliding around the kitchen like I’d accidentally joined Dancing on Ice: Catering Edition. 🥚🍔💃

At one point, the blue roll came out and became an actual member of staff. I was dragging it around behind me like a very sad little mop tail, desperately trying to restore order to a kitchen that had clearly declared war on me. 😂

There were moments when I genuinely thought, “This is it. This is where I live now.”

BUT…

You wonderful lot were absolutely brilliant. ❤️

Thank you for waiting patiently, having a laugh, being understanding and generally making a completely chaotic day feel bloody brilliant.

I genuinely appreciate every single one of you.

I’m likely to be short-staffed until Monday, so please bear with me. I am a delicate little flower 🌸 and whilst I normally thrive under pressure, too much pressure may result in:

- Mild panic
- Excessive sweating
- Talking to myself
- Aggressive use of blue roll
- And, potentially… tears. 😂

And nobody wants to see a grown woman crying into the quiche.

Oh my word. Absolutely wonderful. A Customer came to give me a couple cherry Bakewell slices. Ive just managed to have some with a cuppa. My absolute fave too. Thank you 🥰

Every day is different here at the café. Some days are incredibly busy, while others are quieter, and our stock can vary throughout the day.

We home-bake our pies, quiches, cakes and scones, and they are very popular. If you have your heart set on one of these, we always recommend arriving early, as some days they sell out very quickly.

If you miss out, please don’t worry. You can pre-order, or simply let us know what day you would like a particular item and, where possible, we will be happy to cater for you.

We would also like to gently remind everyone that we are a breakfast and quick-bite café, with sandwiches , full english and our usual selection of homemade treats. We have always been this way and, like every business, we cannot offer everything that every other café does. For example, items such as Melbas or vegetable dinners have never been part of our menu.

Most importantly, please be kind and respectful to our staff. We completely understand that it can be disappointing if something you wanted has sold out or if we don't offer a particular dish, but shouting, rudeness or an attitude towards our team is not acceptable.

Kindness goes a long way. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for the vast majority of our customers, who are polite, understanding, patient and supportive. It really does mean a lot to us.

Well, that’s Monday done and dusted! 🥳

A huge thank you to everyone who popped in today — you lovely lot nearly wiped out the scone supply! 😋

Tomorrow’s scone line-up is Banana & Date and Cheese… because apparently we’re allowed to have both sensible and naughty options. 😂

Pies will be, corned beef pie, cheese pie and mince pie.

We also had an extra little visitor today — a tiny Robin who clearly took a wrong turn and popped in for a nosey! 🐦 After a little assistance, he was safely shown the exit. Absolutely adorable… although sadly he didn’t stop for a coffee. 😆

And of course, the pooch patrol was out in force today! 🐶 Plenty of waggy tails and happy faces, and I’m hoping they thoroughly enjoyed their complimentary sausage. 🌭❤️

What a lovely Monday. Same again tomorrow? 😍

I’ve only gone and kidnapped one of my very own Cherry & Chocolate Scones. 😍

Obviously, it had to be warm… and obviously, it needed melted butter. I mean, I have standards. 😂

I’m trying to diet, but to be quite honest, the scones are showing absolutely no respect for my boundaries. I added some fruit on the side to make myself feel better about the whole situation. 🍓🍌

BUT LISTEN UP… TOMORROW’S HOMEMADE SCONES ARE THE ONES YOU’VE BEEN ASKING FOR! 👀
