Tonight is one of those rare Saturdays when Bev and I are together, no events to take care of. She's been watching telly, bit grumpy because she tuned into the BBC Proms entitled "Gracelands" thinking it was about Elvis, but it turned out to be a celebration of South African music and the end of apartheid. I've been doing the ironing.

Luckily we managed to get all the appliances working in the kitchen before that coach arrived, but if bickering was an Olympic sport, we'd know the National Anthem off by heart.

The important part of the day was when a customer came in, obviously distressed, having a hard time. Bev stopped what she was doing and sat down with a cup of coffee. Not to judge or criticise, or even advise. Just to listen. And care. To let them know that there are people that you only know by acquaintance but when life sucks they will be there if you need them.

By the way, Bev never reads Facebook so she doesn't know I've written this, so it's our secret!

Today, got a bit busy, so busy we actually melted the socket providing power to our brand new induction hob! Poor Anita Musson was melting as well, while Zoe Blower and Courteney Crossland were flat out serving. Anyway, it means we're going to have to do some repairs over the weekend so there might be a little impact on our ability to get orders out tomorrow.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but thanks for your support.

We have been reminded that we haven't posted for a while, reason: it's been mental! 6 buffets and 2 barbecues in 9 days has been challenging, but hats off to all the team that have worked their socks off to pull it all off, especially in the overbearing heat.

It didn't help that Bev and I lost a night's sleep when some lowlife druggie burgled our neighbours house in the early hours of last Thursday.

Thankfully we are welcoming back Holly-Marie Clarke next week to add a much needed pair of hands.

We have introduced a new cake, Biscoff brownie, about a month ago, but it's sold out every day! There's a new batch coming out tomorrow, first come, first served!

We'll be upgrading the cooking capacity in the next few days, so there might be a slight disruption, please bear with us!

Finally, we'll be announcing new meal deals for the Summer Holidays soon.

Just a reminder, the shop will NOT be open next Sunday (7th) because we are prepping for outside catering events the week beginning 8th if June. We're doing buffets every day that week for 100 guests, finishing with a bbq for 500 on Saturday 13th. Sorry for any inconvenience it might cause, I know a lot like their Sunday breakfast from us.
