Well that was one of the busiest days we’ve had since we opened! The BBJ is still alive and back with a bang on pretzel buns this week.

We’ll be adding an entire Sliderz section to our menu soon so everyone can still enjoy our OG burgers & signature fries at The Old Cross.

We’ve always been advocates of quality over quantity and we hate turning people away so, until we can extend our kitchen, we’re limited to the amount of people we can serve at once.

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Sliderz today.

Since the day we first opened our doors, we've been overwhelmed by your incredible support. Becoming one of the highest-rated takeaways in town has been a true honour, and we couldn't have done it without every single one of you.

Unfortunately, rising costs, the unfair VAT rules affecting hospitality, and the new government policies coming into effect next month have made it simply unaffordable for us to continue operating.

This little shop has been our pride and joy, and we're incredibly grateful for the loyalty and kindness you've shown us over the years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

While we say goodbye to Sliderz for now, we’re pleased to share that some of your favourite Sliderz dishes will be added to the menu at The Old Cross Inn & Restaurant for summer-time.

We won’t be offering a takeaway service anymore, but we’d love to welcome you there.

We may reopen one day in the future — who knows what tomorrow brings — but for now, it’s time to say thank you and goodbye.

Well, you'll all (hopefully) be pleased to know we FINALLY have our new ordering system set up!

There are a couple of small changes:

• All types of burgers are in one menu now. You can select any burger; Plain, Cheeseburger, Classic, Ring of Fire etc. then you choose if you want beef, double beef, chicken or halloumi in it.

Example: If you select a Bacon Cheeseburger, but choose Chicken for the filling, it will be a chicken burger with bacon & cheese on it).

• This means all of our signature smashburgers are available as chicken & halloumi burgers, and vice versa!

• We have removed meal deals to keep things as simple as possible. You will have the option to add fries & sides with your burgers instead now.

Aside from that, everything else should be similar to before.

We've only been able to test it ourselves so far, but it seems to be running smoothly. There might still be some small bugs to fix, so please just let us know if you have any issues and we will try and get them sorted asap!

The card reader is currently still being set up, so any orders in store must be paid in cash tonight.
