โEarthworm Jim Retro Review๐ฎ
I think its safe to say this is one of the best games ever created. Its a simple run-and-gun platformer that's loads of crazy fun. It also has a killer soundtrack.
As far as the story goes, Jim is basically a regular earthworm. But one day his life would be changed forever. While he is dodging crows back on Earth, a fearsome and renowned space bounty hunter named Psy-Crow gets into confrontation with another ship, and loses a space suit out of an air lock. But this is no ordinary suit, this is a special suit created by the one and only Professor Monkey-For-A-Head (before you say anything, yes his name is exactly what he is) whom he created for Queen Slug-For-A-Butt, so she can take over the galaxy. Psy-Crow was supposed to deliver the suit, but it fell to earth. Meanwhile, back on the planet, the suit crashes on the Earth's surface. Jim, trying to escape being lunch for some crows, takes refuge in the suit (or the suit crashes onto Jim depending on what you believe in). The suit causes him to mutate at a fantastic rate, and thus Earthworm Jim is born. Psy-Crow comes to Earth to look for the suit, and meets with the Queen in a conversation. Jim is interested with meeting Princess Whats-Her-Name (whom Slug-For-A-Butt kidnapped), so he rushes off to save her. Along the way, he encounters villains who want the suit for their evil purposes like Evil the Cat (Cruel ruler of Planet Heck), Bob the Killer Goldfish (A fish who doesn't put up much of a fight), and finally, the Queen herself. He falls in love with the princess upon first meeting. However, she gets crushed by a cow, Jim himself launched in the first level.
This game is hilarious and hard at the same time, and I love it for it (even though I never finished the game). I believe you would enjoy it if you play it. Its available for Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Sega CD, MS-DOS, and Gameboy Advance. In my opinion, Genesis is the best, but you can have your own opinions.
