Old one popped up on memories today!
Memories really is the key word today too...memories of a time where business was thriving. I've had sooo many enquiries in the last few weeks, I give a quote and they give further details with the intention to pay so I send over booking instructions.
And then silence.
It makes no sense to me...a quote was agreed and I send over my private information to book, then it's radio silence! A simple no thanks I can't afford it, or a simple thanks I'll get back to you is great! But continuing the conversation to then be ignored is just a little strange. I'll ask a few days later if they still wish to book and 9 times out of 10 it's ignored.
And I don't get paid for the back and forth messages, hence why a quick quote literally is that! So you can decide initially based on cost (everyone's priority deciding factor). Continuing with descriptive messages, and designs and dates and details is then me ploughing unpaid time into something that is supposed to come with pay at the end of it. So when I'm suddenly ignored, those lengthy interactions have all mounted up and I'm going unpaid for hours and hours of wasted chat time.
I guess it wouldn't be so bad if it ended with a no thanks message, even after lots of messaging.
It's the ignorance that breaks me.
Sorry for the rant, it's just happening more often than not at the moment, and I cannot understand why.
