🐟✨ Good Friday at The Cottage ✨🐟

We’re proud to be 2026 Best Newcomer finalists at the National Fish & Chip Awards and we want Good Friday to run like clockwork. 💛

Friday only:
• No fish bites or fish bite meals (sorry)
• No plaice or hake, but cod and haddock available as normal ✅

Thanks in advance for your patience, we’ll be moving the queue as fast as possible with our super-duper frying range. 🙌

Good Friday hours:
09:30 - 11:30 for breakfast (not fish and chips!)
11:30 - 21:00 for fish and chips takeaway and restaurant (all day)

Thanks Harry Eats & Captures…

The building has been here since 1856, and its been a fish and chip shop since 1920. Fantastic blue plaque heritage. The only fish and chip restaurant in Blackpool with a real wood burning stove. 😉

The current team has been here for just a year and in that time made it as a finalist for the 2025 Peter Hill Award and finalist (top 3) for the 2026 National Fish and Chip Awards Best Newcomer.

We still get negative comments from experiences before our time. That obviously wasn’t us, so come and give us a try if you haven’t been recently.

We are getting a great reception for the new breakfast service, especially our freshly squeezed orange juice 🍊 and homemade potato cakes 🥔

Fish and chips served 7 days a week. 🐟🍟 Breakfast served Thursday to Sunday from 09:30 ☕🍳.

Celebrating great company

Unfortunately, we didn't take home the 2026 Best Newcomer Award, but a massive congratulations to Monster Fish & Chip Co. in Fort Augustus on their big win! 🎉 We're proud to keep pushing forward and are back in Blackpool tomorrow, working towards the main awards in 2027. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to deliver the absolute best fish and chip experience.

Counting down to the big moment!

We’ve landed here in London 🇬🇧 for the National Fish and Chip Awards and tomorrow we’ll find out if we’ve won the 2026 Best Newcomer Award. More of the team arriving later today. Fingers crossed for a win, wish us luck! 🤞

Breakfast upgrade…

We have swapped the hash brown for a home made potato cake. Pop in tomorrow from 09:30 to give them a try. 😋

National Fish and Chip Awards!

Next week a few of us are travelling to London for the final of the National Fish and Chip Awards, where The Cottage is a finalist for the 2026 Best Newcomer Award.

Before someone points out The Cottage has been a fish and chip shop since 1920 (which is obviously correct), The Cottage changed hands at the end of 2024 and we are brand new to Fish & Chips (newcomers!).

It is a great honour to reach this stage of the awards. We have been inspected and tested on all aspects of our business, and the standard from all three finalists is very high.

We are also delighted to be representing Blackpool and England on the National stage. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The other two finalists being Monster Fish & Chip Co and The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack, both from Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The winner will be announced at the National Fish and Chip Awards in London on Wednesday 25th.
