Firstly, we want to apologise that things have been a little quiet this week. Two of our team members are extremely unwell at the moment, and we’re sending them all our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery. ❤️‍🩹

But in the midst of a tough week, we’ve had some incredible news to share…

🎉 We’ve been shortlisted as finalists in the Lancashire Taste Awards 2026! 🎉

Not just for one — but two of our sauces, and our brand-new Mead Chilli Jam that hasn’t even been released yet!

For those who know me, you’ll know how much this means. I’ve always pushed for local, fresh produce and proper food made the way it should be — no shortcuts, no commercial compromises, just honest flavours and real ingredients.

So... As you all know I am always striving for better things for Market street kitchen, spend hopeless amounts of time studying future industry trends, people's spending habits and all that jazz, but this also involves seeing alot of facts and figures, I've even seen many well know places close there doors for good the past 12 months including some good freinds of mine, and this is continuing to happen everywhere, so I thought I would share a few facts with you all collect your thoughts let us know what more could the industry do for you ✌️

The industry is in the worst crisis it’s ever faced — and the numbers are frightening:

Closed Until Monday ❤️

Hey everyone! Just a quick update from me 😊
As many of you know, I put a shout-out out for an extra pair of hands yesterday — and wow, the response was incredible. Thank you so much to everyone who reached out. We’ll be contacting each of you personally today. This is honestly the hardest part, because I’d love to give everyone the hours they’re looking for, especially at this time of year… but sadly we can only take on a couple right now 😢

I’ve made the decision to stay closed until Monday so that when we reopen, we’re fully staffed and able to offer the standard of service and quality I hold myself to. I know I can’t do it all alone — and you all deserve the best.

On a brighter note, I’ll be launching our brand-new festive lunch menu on Monday! 🎄✨
The dishes I trialled this week got amazing feedback already, and I can’t wait for you to try them.

Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart for all the support — not just for the restaurant, but for helping us find the right people so we can keep offering the best lunchtime deals Blackpool has seen.

🌧️ We’re closed today — it’s an 86 day!
Just a quick reminder that Market Street Kitchen is having its usual day off today.

I also want to be honest with you all… this week has been a real struggle. Many of our regulars will have seen me working alone, and as much as I love what I do, I can’t keep running the place solo.

👀 So we’re looking for an extra pair of hands! We don't want someone that's going to stand on the till looking like there cats just died, we need someone with a smile, someone that can chat sh*t with with our younger customers or sit down and sip coffee with Doris who comes out just for a chance of socialising with people, yes our focus is always good food and great service, but we are more then just food, we treat everyone like family, we see our locals as family and they come back day after day for that reason, we know everyone on a personal level and we want to keep building on that, so if you love meeting new people, don't made putting in the work when it's needed and making time to have a cup of coffee and chat with our guests then we would love to hear from you, we don't serve alcohol mid day so this will also be ideal for anyone age 16+
If you or someone you know wants to earn a bit of extra cash in the run-up to Christmas, we’re looking for help 12–2pm, a couple of hours a day, and you’ll get free food on shift. Perfect for anyone who wants a bit of flexible work and to be part of a small, friendly local spot.

We’re hitting pause, closing the doors, and stepping away from the pass for a hot minute. Why?
Because the to-do list behind the scenes is starting to look like Carmy’s stress levels… and trust us, nobody wants that meltdown.

Today’s mission:
🔧 Tackle the jobs we never get time for
🧽 Give the place some proper TLC
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 And most importantly — spend some much-needed time with the kids before they start calling us “that person who brings snacks”
