Hey everyone,

It’s with a heavy heart that I’m writing this…
As of this Friday, 1st August, I’ll no longer be running the community café.

Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me over the last four years. Your kindness, loyalty, and friendly faces have meant so much more than I can explain.

I took on the café back in 2020 after COVID, and it was a huge leap into something completely new for me. I’ve loved building connections, sharing chats and laughs, and being part of something so special in the heart of Erskine. I’ve grown a lot — personally and professionally — and I’ll always be grateful for that.

But the reality is, it’s just no longer financially viable for me to keep it going. Like so many small businesses, rising costs and changes over time have made it really tough. It’s not a decision I’ve taken lightly, but I know it’s time to move on.

So, in August, I’ll be heading off to college to start a brand-new chapter. It’s scary and exciting all at once — but I’m ready for something different and hopeful for what’s ahead.

To everyone who’s walked through the doors, supported the café, and made it feel like a second home — thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to those who’ve become friends along the way, you’ve made it all worthwhile.

I’ll still be around and I really hope someone can take the opportunity to keep the café going — it’s a brilliant hub for the community, and it’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

Hi all, just a quick post to say the cafe will be open again starting tomorrow!
Had a wonderful week spending time up north with the family and raring to go again now. I have an appointment in the morning and won't be there until lunchtime but there will be someone covering until I arrive

Looking for some advice today! Calling any electricians or generally smart folk

I purchased a twin fryer from Adexa late last year and within a week or two one of the heating elements started cutting out every time it heated up. I have replaced the fuse correctly 4 times and the same thing continues to happen. It's connected to the correct type of socket and I have always run the temp at the usual 175C

Before I chuck the lot in the bin, could anyone possibly have any idea what else could be done to repair it?

I've had a professional electrician look at it and they said I'd need a technician as it's an internal fault. Adexa's returns service would be rinsing me upwards of £500 on top of the original cost and weeks of waiting time so thought I'd put it out here as a last ditch effort before giving up

Renfreshire council have made the decision to close the community centre tomorrow Fri 24th Jan due to the high winds we're expecting so cafe will have to close as well.

Apologies for the inconvenience! Should be back to normal for the foreseeable future come Monday morning

Hi everyone, that's the cafe back up and running again!
Had a great time on my first real holiday in 10 years but glad to be back doing what I love.
Couple of slight changes for those of you who may have missed it:

-Opening hours since last summer have been 10-5 instead of starting at 9 as being a one man show I need some time to get prepared every morning.
-Mozzarella sticks and sweet chilli sauce have been added to the menu so why not give them a try, they're one of my favourites and very popular with those who have tried already!
-XL and XS portions have also been added to cater for little ones or hungrier folk
-As always high school kids get a discount at lunchtime, 50p off all orders and cans/bottles are also reduced to 50p too
-Koka noodles now come in their classic red tubs chicken/curry and for the picky eaters I will always ask if you would like the veggies added or not

~NEW CHANGES~ ~FREE TEA+COFFEE~

Hi everyone! Now that the summer holidays are over I just wanted to let you all know the cafe is now open Mon-Fri 9-5 again, with a twist!
From now on I will be serving FREE teas and coffees and cheaper snacks until 10am, when I will start doing all the usuals

Hot rolls less than £2
Full fried breakfasts
Toasties / Panini's
Soup, Mozzarella Sticks, Burgers, Chips and the famed Chicken Poppers
And now introducing Salt and Chilli anything you like for an extra £1.50

Sit in or takeaway, cash or card, not a problem!

High school kid lunches come at a discount and run the following:
Mon/Tue/Thu 1:15-1:45
Wed/Fri 12:25-12:55
If you want to avoid the big rush!

Hi guys, quick reminder that the Tabletop Sale is back up and running today inside the community centre. Running from 12-2 with every table booked out. Cafe is open alongside for anyone to get something to eat as well! Mon down for a bargain and bite!
