Hello everyone,
I am delighted to inform you that Jörd will be opening on Friday October 16th 2026. It has taken so long to get to this point, and I am beyond excited to be able to finally open the doors and welcome you in.
There are a few things to note as we approach our opening date.
Our friends at Simply Stripes are preparing the ‘Founder Wall’, featuring the names of everyone who backed our Kickstarter project. I know that some people requested an alternative name to be put on the wall (ie a family member) so if possible, please can those people reach out again by email to [email protected] (with the subject line Founder Wall) to ensure that I do not miss anyone. These requests were communicated in several different ways initially (email, DM, via Kickstarter etc) and although I tried my best to note them all down, I’d rather be safe than sorry. We can’t put company names on the wall, sorry.
There were also a few people who gave a first name only for the wall – I’ll be reaching out to those people via Kickstarter to check if they would like to include a surname.
We will be spending some time in Jörd prior to opening testing recipes and ensuring we are equipped to hit the ground running. We will be hosting some small test evenings featuring staff and their families on 9th & 10th October.
Friday 16th October will be our opening night and will be reserved for those who backed the ‘opening night’ reward on Kickstarter. Invites for this will be sent out soon. There will be information provided in the email on what happens if you cannot make that date. On Saturday 17th October, we open to the public.
We are working on getting our booking system up and running and will announce details on how to book a table by the end of next week. There will be a brief window to allow those who backed ‘tasting menu’ rewards on Kickstarter to book in before reservations are opened to the public. These people have waited a long time to redeem their pledges, so it is only fair that they have first dibs.
