❗❗ Can't believe I'm having to say this again BUT.....we have yet another water outage here at the tearoom ❗❗
We have honoured all our bookings and are now just doing drinks and cakes on/in takeaway containers - we will close at 4 or sooner if we run out 😂
Trying to keep positive here, so how about looking at our lovely new pastel pinnies to cheer us all up (courtesy of Logo Orkney 😍)

Just a reminder that we are closed this weekend for a short break - thank you to the person who helpfully updated our sign at the Palace, very ingenious use of those sticky parking tickets 😂 hopefully my replacement is more eye catching as you drive by!

🚫 PLEASE NOTE 🚫
There is a burst water main in Birsay that is affecting our supply
We will remain open, BUT this means there is no coffee machine, no toilets and we can't wash up (so we will be using takeaway containers)
I have made contact with those booked in, but please share 😁

Advance notice that we will be taking a short break the weekend of 26th June - a break to rest and refresh - all Tearoom related tasks: phones, messages and emails will be answered after the break.

Another not so positive post for a Monday morning.....the challenges just keep coming 🙈
We are without toilets today due to another blockage, while we wait to get this sorted, we may only be able to seat those that have a booking. And, due to the series of challenges we have faced we have made the decision to close at 3pm today, to rest, reflect and take stock for the rest of the day ❤️ but on a positive note, look at these lovely freshly baked scones 😁

It's such a beautiful day, and we know it's going to be busy, BUT we are facing more challenges today 😞 Please be patient with us, we are short on staff, short on stock of menu items and potentially a problem with our drains. We are currently taking stock of what we can offer today. Food service will stop at 2pm, and we will then stay open until the cakes run out! We can only apologise, thanks for your patience ❤️

Phew, we made it through the day! Thank you to the customers that waited patiently and very sorry to those we had to turn away. We are experiencing some hiccups this weekend with our staffing, and may have to reduce what we offer or alter our opening hours - please bear with us, we hope to be back to normal soon.
A big thank you to all those that stepped up and came to help, you all know who you are, and we couldn't have done it without you 😍

We are looking for someone new to join our Tearoom family. We are a small, friendly, fun group to work with, and can boast the best views for any job!
Our two positions are seasonal, with an immediate start for the right candidates.
Kitchen Assistant: required to work 2 days each weekend - mainly to help with food prep and prepare food service items - shifts are for 7 hours and will be varied over the four day weekend - experience preferable, but not essential
Tearoom Cleaner: End of day cleaner required - for each of the days open (4 in total) 1.5 hours each day - experience preferable, but not essential

We are are currently facing some challenges within our small team and, for the foreseeable future, will change our opening hours to 4 days a week only. These will be Friday through to Monday, open at 1030am, with our food menu available from 11am. We hope to be able to open until 4pm (with the kitchen closing at 330pm), but please be patient with us if we need to tweak this. It's not a decision that has been easy to make, but the health and wellbeing of our staff are very important to us. Thank you all for your continued support, we really appreciate it ❤️
