🚲 Something new has rolled into the Jewellery Quarter…

We’re really excited to share that URBAN is now an OurBike host! ❤️

But what exactly does that mean?

OurBike is a community e-cargo bike sharing scheme, designed to make those everyday local journeys easier, more affordable and a little greener. Think shopping trips, deliveries, transporting kids, pets, plants or generally all the stuff that might normally have you reaching for the car. The electric-assist cargo bikes can carry up to 100kg in the front box, too!

And that’s where URBAN comes in…

As an OurBike host in the Jewellery Quarter, we’re providing a local home and hub for the bike, helping keep it charged and ready for the community to use. OurBike takes care of the bookings, maintenance, insurance and rider support.

You simply book through the OurBike app, ride, and return — making it a really practical alternative for those shorter journeys around the city. Residents currently get their first 60 minutes free, with hire after that from £5 per hour.

We love being part of something that encourages people to explore the Jewellery Quarter and Birmingham in a more sustainable way — and we’re rather pleased that URBAN gets to be part of the journey. 🚲🌿❤️

Lunch doesn’t always have to be a big affair… 🌿🥧

If you’re looking for something a little lighter for lunchtime, our Spinach & Cheese Tart is a rather lovely choice.

A crisp homemade pastry tart, filled with spinach & cheese and served alongside a fresh, colourful jumbo cous cous & spring roasted vegetable salad — satisfying enough for lunch, without leaving you feeling like you need an afternoon nap afterwards. 😂

Perfect for those days when you fancy something fresh, homemade and full of flavour. ❤️

Available from midday at URBAN — and there are plenty more lighter bites and lunch options on the menu too.

📸 Okay Sanika… we see you! 👏✨

One of our lovely Urbanistas, Sanika Lad, snapped these gorgeous, moody photos yesterday, swipe for the rain shot! Quite frankly we think she may have found herself a new job as URBAN food photographer. 🔥

And what a pairing to capture…

💚 Our Pistachio Hot Chocolate — rich, creamy, chocolatey goodness with that unmistakable pistachio twist.

🍒 Alongside a slice of Carla’s homemade Cherry Bakewell Tart — fruity cherry, almondy goodness and exactly the sort of thing that belongs next to a hot drink.

Pistachio + cherry + almond + chocolate… we’re struggling to find a flaw in this combination. 🤤

A little reminder too that so much of the deliciousness you see on our counter is homemade right here at URBAN by Carla and the kitchen team. ❤️

So, firstly… 10/10 pairing.
Secondly… 10/10 photography, Sanika. 📸👏

We may have to start handing the camera around the Urbanistas more often!
