The author JRR Tolkein lived in the area for a period of his childhood, and it is believed that the local Mill and surrounding parks form part of his Middle Earth. The cafe, now under new management, has kept the esteemed Hobbit name, and looks forward to welcoming Tolkien fans, as well as any 'Hungry Hobbit' to share in its delicacies!
