Is the repair of old refrigeration really the cost-effective solution?

We've been crunching some numbers and can tell you is not always best to repair.

Looking at a typical 2m integral multidecks of around 5 years of age, the kWh per annum is over 13,000 (£2,751 per year at the new fixed rate or 21p per kWh). If you were to upgrade to a Cabinet with doors from the energy usage drops dramatically to 4,125 kWh per annum which is £866, a saving of nearly £2,000 in running costs per cabinet per year.

With a typical lease cost of around £33 per week over 3 years , together with a shiny new cabinet with a 2 year warranty, the question is, can you afford not to upgrade?
