WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays:

Subside is open from 5pm till midnight, unless we have a special event scheduled. Admission is free except on special occasions and Bank Holiday events. Wednesdays:
Wednesdays are our student night. With more great brand name drinks offers than any other night of the week and the coolest tunes from our resident DJ there is no other place to be. Drinks

Bud Light + Carling Cider - £2.30 Pint
Doom Bar @ £2.80 pint
Becks, Budweiser and Tiger @ £2.00 bottle
Amaretto, Captain Morgan Spiced, Fireball, Gordon's Pink Gin, Jägermeister @ £2.50 a double - add 50p for mixer
The bar is open all day from 5pm through till 3am with our DJ kicking off at 8pm! Thursdays:
Thursdays are our live band night. Each week Surprise You’re Dead Music will be putting on a great bill featuring the best in local talent. And the best news about this is that entry is totally FREE! This way you get to check out the hottest local bands without having to lose any of your precious beer money! The bar is open all day from 5pm (midday) through till midnight and admission is free except on special occasions and Bank Holiday events. Are you in a band? Want a gig? Now’s your chance to play at Subside, Birmingham’s rock & alternative bar! Subside will be holding gigs for local bands and are looking for bands of any type that falls into the rock & alternative genres to play. You must have your own backline equipment (drums, amps, cabs!) and/or be willing to kit share with another band due to lack of stage space but it’s your chance to play at the soon to become legendary Subside and propel you on the road to superstardom…..! Well maybe anyway…
So, if you want to play with your band at Subside then please send an e-mail to [email protected] or [email protected] and send us your band details including any links to music etc and we can look into putting you on the next bill! Fridays & Saturdays:
The whole bar will be rocking to the tunes played by our rotating resident DJ’s so that you never get bored by the mix of rock, metal, punk, ska, indie & alternative anthems old and new that will be blasting out each and every week! The bar is open all day from 5pm on Fridays and 12pm on Saturdays through till 6.00am the next day. Admission is free before 9.00pm and then £4.00 on the door after!

Over 100,000 views in less than 36 hours across our socials! 🤯

All for a bit of (unexplained) fun was why we originally posted this and the response has admittedly taken us by surprise in a nice way.

We do have a couple of follow up posts for this over the next two weeks or so, one a bit pragmatic for those who keep insisting the ‘light’ was an infrared source. And another that is definitely on the extremely spooky side for believers in ghosts/poltergeists, etc.

Bank Holiday Sunday has officially kicked off at Subside and the room is already loud. Subside Slammer is rolling through a stacked lineup of Midlands metal and the bands are in full swing.

The Subside poltergeist experience on Tuesday August 25th 2026.

What a strange event this was with flickering lights, ring main blowing a fuse yet everything works perfectly and strange lights behind me that I didn’t even notice until we started to record this.

We’re open, loud and already in full swing and DJ Big Dean is about to jump on the decks to drop banger after banger straight through until 6am.

If you’re in the mood to party, we are the right place!

We’ve teamed up with the O2 Institute Birmingham to give away FOUR Dance Gavin Dance tickets for their show on Sunday 06 September.
