This Mother’s Day at Dilshad Restaurant, we take a moment to celebrate the incredible women who hold our families together. Mothers are truly the heart of our homes ~ always caring, always giving, and loving us in ways that words can never fully express. They are the one person, I believe, that you can 100% trust and rely on.
So often we don’t realise just how precious they are until the day they are no longer beside us. I lost my mum 3 years ago, and not a day goes by, that I don’t think about her.
That’s why Mother’s Day is the perfect time to cherish them, spoil them, and remind them how deeply they are loved.
As a small thank you from all of us here at Dilshad, every mother who dines with us on Mother’s Day will receive a gift of flowers from us. And if you’re lucky enough to still have your mum with you, give her a hug — because one day, that simple hug will be the thing you miss the most #💐

Let me take this opportunity to thank every single one of you that has supported us over the past year(s). Without your love and loyalty, we would be nothing. We cannot express enough, how much we appreciate you for not just your custom, but your friendship & love.

There are too many names to list, but we’ve had the pleasure to host some brilliant friends over the past year, from all over the world, and all walks of life.

I had sooo many pictures to pick from, that I had to put them in grids (not in any particular order btw), and even then I had to delete out lots!! See if you can spot yourself in any of them.

I’ve always tried to keep politics out of business.

“What will the customers think?”
“Will it affect trade?”
“There might be bad publicity?”

No more. Silence is complicity.
We as humans, not businesses, need to make a stand. It’s almost 2 years since this atrocity accelerated.
It didn’t start on October 7th…it started in the 1940’s.
It’s bad enough that our tax ££ are funding this genocide. Let’s not beat around the bush, because that’s exactly what it is.
Why speak now?
Because the images of the starving people, especially innocent helpless children is unbearable.
Will this post change anything? Probably not.
However, if enough people get together, then there may be a chance.
Auschwitz was another genocide, and in this day and age, it should not be possible/allowed to happen right in front of our very eyes.
Gaza is starving.
More than anything right now, I wish we could simply land there to feed and help the children.

What a lovely family!! The amazingly talented Mel Giedroyc paid us a visit for a post graduation meal. She’s worked across a whole range of television programmes, and hosted one of my fave ever shows… (I think that’s where my love of sweet treats & baking comes from🤷🏽‍♂️), along with numerous comedy shows. She’s coming back to Birmingham soon to perform & I’m definitely going to visit. As expected, she’s so adorable & absolutely loved our food. Ben is probably the tallest man I’ve met in my life (hence I was struggling with the selfie!!), and the girls are delightful…a true reflection of their parents. is not Mel’s “official” page, but shows a range of her wonderful work. We loved hosting them and look forward to doing it when they’re back in Brum ♥️

This Valentine’s Day, we’re keeping it simple—no set menu, no extortionate prices, just incredible flavour’s straight from our kitchen.

We will have a Dish of the Day: Murgh Malai – tender chicken tikka and spiced mince cooked in to a Bhuna sauce, topped with melted cheese and served with fragrant pilau rice. A dish as rich and comforting as love itself! ❤️ Simply mention it when you order.
