Sad News 🌱😢

Sorry that we have been so quiet recently but we needed to take some time away to make some difficult decisions. It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to close Plant and Pulse. After a long three years with so many ups and downs due to the pandemic and the unpredictability of trade and work within the city it has reached a point where it is no longer viable for us to stay open and trade in the capacity that we were.

We opened with such high hopes and the business went from strength to strength in the first 6 months ... But then covid happened and our world got turned upside down. We have loved getting to know all of our wonderful customers and enjoyed the journey Plant and Pulse has been on. So although this is goodbye to Plant and Pulse 😢🌱 we will be back and we will regroup and figure out a new path for our Sustainable Food Project. The world needs more businesses that really genuinely care and we aren't finished.

Thank you for all the support and all the love you have shown to Plant and Pulse over the last three years, it wouldn't have been what it became without you. We are immensely proud of the award we won and the noise we created and that wouldn't have been possible without all of our wonderful customers and staff.

Pakora Burger 🌱💚🔥

The seasonal spicy sensation ☺️ with extra cheese ...

Mint 'yogurt' keeping the burger moist. Aubergine Pickle for some punch. Mustard Chillies bringing the bang. Rocket making it feel healthy. And the seasonal pakora patty filling you up. All wedged between a vegan brioche bun 💣 delicious and nutritious.

We are open 11-9 Monday - Friday for eating in, takeaway and delivery via deliveroo and Ubereats. 👍

So many salads! ➡️🌱💚💪

The trust the house salad box is constantly changing 😊 to be honest we put it on the menu for the regulars who were just asking us to make something up for them ... And slowly it is becoming the most popular choice 🤯🤯 Which is kind of blowing our minds, but it shows how much you must be enjoying the food ☺️

We love mixing it up and discovering new ingredients to add to the salads. Although this time of year is a bit limited for in season UK grown veg, we have a great variety of grains and pulses, and we even got our hands on some stunning UK made spelt pasta.

We are open 11-9 Monday to Friday and 11-3 on Saturday. Come on in and say hello or get in delivero or Ubereats to get it to your door/office 👍

Falafel Wrap 🌱💚

Have you tried our wraps yet? Since adding them to the menu a year ago, they have become a lunch time favourite. It's just something about food wrapped in bread.

And this isn't just any old bread. This is an Iranian flat bread made in a little shop in Brum freshly every day.

And it isn't just any old fillings either. This is the falafel Wrap, which is filled with pickles, hummus, marinated kale, rocket, tahini dressing, sauerkraut, and our freshly ground falafel.

And on top of all this, our falafel isn't a standard falafel. One of the businesses priorities is to source our ingredients from the UK as much as possible, so instead of using the usual chickpeas (which are only grown in limited volume) we use fava beans, which are broad beans for the veg patch people out there. We grind the fava beans with fresh herbs and spices to produce the little beauties 😊

Available every lunch time in store and on deliveroo and Ubereats 👍

Blustery Buddha Bowls 🌱💚

What a week of weather! And what a hero James is on the bike. Lots of bright colours this week with beetroot and turmeric. We had some amazing beetroots to make the dip and then steamed the tops to make it zero waste ☺️

Seasonal Salads 💚🌱

We are constantly changing what's in our salad bowls along with the seasons. This time of year can be quite hard as there isn't a huge amount that grows in the winter ... But we think we do a pretty good job at changing it up!

We are open Tuesday - Saturday 11-9 for eating in or takeaway, and if you want even more convenience, get on deliveroo or Ubereats and have it arrive at your door.

Buddha Bowls 14th Feb 🌱💚

Another week, another Buddha bowl. Swipe ➡️ to see what came in this week's and to get an idea how the menus work 😊

For those that haven't had a delivery yet, the idea is you have 1 hot meal (microwavable), and 4 meals worth of salads. All made by us, and using all UK grown ingredients.

James had to work hard today delivering the bulk of the bowls via peddle power alone. If we do many more we are going to have to buy him an electric bike. 😂 He loves it though. Shout out to for providing his fuel 💪

Buddha Bowls

Another week, another flavour.

Carribbean this week, with some pretty cool alterations for the food geeks. Rice and peas, but with whole oats and Carlin peas from 👌Curried mushrooms giving some incredible texture to the curry. Roast Japanese pumpkin making the hummus such an amazing sweetness.

We could go on ....
