Mom's House

So today we bite the bullet and make the announcement we've been putting off for a while but I'm sure many of you have guessed.

I'm very sad to say we're going to be unable to reopen Mom's House. Due to personal circumstances, I'll be stepping away from the business and remaining resources will need to be channelled into our sister site to give it the best chance of survival in these difficult times.

It was a short run but it doesn't make it any less painful to have to step away after all we invested both financially and practically to get it to this stage. We're mourning a dream we were so close to realising.

I hope we can find someone I can pass the baton on to because after speaking to you all, I know we had something special with the concept and brand. I really hope I can find someone who can lead Mom's House to fulfil its potential. I'm heartbroken that person isn't me.

A massive thank you to all those who worked with us to get it opened, the team who worked tirelessly, the friends who listened to the venting and offered advice, and to all of you who dined with us, posted about us and left your reviews. Thank you so, so much.

Hey all!

It's obviously a really turbulent time for hospitality right now (and the rest of country) and as a new business it's hit us hard and presented a lot of different challenges. One of our biggest challenges right now has been getting the right team in place to deliver the vision we have for Mom's House.

Unfortunately a key member of the team has to decided to take a job elsewhere and so we have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close, so that we can hire, train and ensure that consistency is there. As a new business, we can't afford to stretch our team to the point where our quality suffers. We in the midst of building our reputation and can't afford to not get it right each and every time.

We're taking what we've learned so far and working on our processes and systems so we can come back very soon, stronger than ever.
