Is it cheating to mark National Chocolate Milk Day with a tiramisu? We've decided it isn't. 🍫

Think about it. Cocoa, something creamy, a bit of a pick-me-up. Tiramisu ticks every box. It just comes with espresso-soaked sponge and a generous layer of mascarpone as well. Chocolate milk's grown-up Italian cousin, really.

Now, a confession. This photo isn't from this week. It's from last Christmas, when the kitchen was flat out and the tiramisu went almost as fast as we could plate it. Scrolling back through the pictures reminded us of something: Christmas is closer than it looks, and our festive details need to be online.

So keep an eye out. Our Christmas information is on its way, and we'll share it here as soon as it's live.

Alright, we know it's technically an American celebration, and yes, our own National Pizza Day falls in February... but who are we to say no to an excuse for extra cheese? 🧀 So this Saturday, we're getting behind National Cheesy Pizza Day, because honestly, any day that celebrates melted mozzarella is a day worth having.

Whether you're team classic Margherita or you like to go all in with three cheeses and a bit of a "why not" attitude, Saturday's the day to lean into it. Our kitchen will be firing up something extra gooey, extra golden, and extra worth the calories.

We won't pretend this is a serious occasion. It's just a good excuse to say the word "cheesy" as many times as possible and eat pizza while doing it. Feel free to roll your eyes at the pun-fest, we can take it.

Well, that was a week, wasn't it? 😅 Between last-minute uniform runs, hunting down the right size shoes, and making sure school bags were packed and ready, half of Acocks Green seems to have been in survival mode this week – us included! Our own team has been juggling exactly the same thing at home, so if you're feeling a bit frazzled, know you're not alone.

Now the kids are back in the swing of things, it feels like the perfect Friday to hand over cooking duties to us. Come and unwind this evening with a proper plate of pasta and let someone else do the thinking for a change.

After a few showery days, the sun's decided to stick around for a bit ☀️ We've got a lovely mild spell heading our way – think 19 to 20 degrees, with any rain mostly saving itself for the evenings. Perfect excuse to wander down Warwick Road, where the hanging baskets are looking gorgeous, and pop in for something delicious.

Our chef's been hard at work in the kitchen this afternoon, hand-preparing today's specials before they land beautifully on the plate. There's something about watching a dish come together that makes it taste even better once it's in front of you.

With the flowers blooming all around Acocks Green and the weather set to stay pleasant for the next couple of days, it feels like the perfect time for a relaxed lunch or dinner with us.

After a great plate and a late-night date, there's really only one way to finish the evening properly. 🍮

Tonight we're talking tiramisu, that classic combination of coffee-soaked sponge, mascarpone, and a dusting of cocoa that's stuck around for a reason. Some of you will tell us there's no need to mess with it, and we get that. A proper tiramisu, made the traditional way, is hard to beat.

But we also know a few of you have tried variations along the way, pistachio, limoncello, maybe even something a bit more adventurous, and swear it's just as good, if not better.

It's Thursday, which means it's time for the debate that never gets old in this kitchen. 🍅

Today's contender: our penne in a rich tomato sauce, slow-cooked until it's deep and sweet, finished with a shower of parmesan and fresh herbs. Simple, proper, no messing about.

But we know half of you are already thinking about a creamy sauce instead, and that's fair enough too. Every week it's the same split down the middle, tomato traditionalists on one side, cream lovers on the other, and neither side ever backs down.

The sky's putting on a show tonight, so we thought we'd match the drama on our plates. 🌙

While everyone's outside craning their necks for tonight's partial solar eclipse, we'll be tucked away with the air-con on full, plating up bowls of creamy mushroom tagliatelle, silky sauce, tender mushrooms, a scatter of fresh parsley, the kind of thing that makes you forget it's still roasting outside.

Confession: it's been one of those weeks. The kind where you clock off on Friday and immediately start thinking about carbs. 🍝

So here's what's happening on our end today: fresh calzone coming out of the oven, golden and stuffed with all the good stuff, and a tiramisu behind it that's been quietly perfecting itself in the fridge since this morning. It's the kind of pairing that makes the week disappear a bit.

⚽ Change of plan tonight, Pasta di Piazza AG family! ⚽⚽Share if you agree.🥅

We know exactly where everyone wants to be this evening, and it's not queuing for a table at ours. So instead of fighting it, we're joining you. The doors are staying shut tonight and the whole team is heading home (or to the pub) to get behind England.

It felt like the right call. Half our customers were going to cancel anyway, and the truth is, we didn't fancy cooking with one eye on the telly either. So we're taking the night off, all of us, together.

We'll be back open as usual tomorrow, ready to hear how the match went (please let it be good news).
