The whole family can enjoy summer to the fullest with the launch of The Cow Shed’s Big Kids Summer Menu! 😎☀️

With the Government reducing VAT on children's meals, The Cow Shed Bar & Grill and The Cow Shed at The Ship Inn is making sure that everyone can benefit with our new promotion!

From Wednesday, 1 July to Tuesday, 1 September, while children can eat free with The Cow Shed’s Mini Moo Menu, adults can now enjoy the Big Kids Summer Menu too.

The carefully curated Big Kids Summer menu includes Whole Herd Sharers such as the Texas style garlic and rosemary fire bread and Cow Shed nacho sharer, and mains like the Southern chicken stack and the Old Speckled Hen fish and chips, as well as American style toasties, Cow Shed smoked meats boards and Cow Shed burgers.

SUPPORT TOM KERRIDGE’S CAMPAIGN - Sign this petition.

Hello to all the local independent hospitality businesses!

I’m sure like us, you’re feeling incredibly vulnerable at the moment, due to the lack of profit and any positive cash flow in your business, and the future is unfortunately looking just as bleak!

We have joined the campaign to amass a 1 million signatures petition to reduce VAT in the hospitality sector to 10% from the current 20%.

Note, most of Europe are at 10% & Germany are at 7%.

We’d urge you to join us and Chef Tom Kerridge, who is leading a nationwide campaign.

The campaign’s goal is to secure 1 million signatures to demonstrate public and industry support for a fairer VAT rate.

As we know only to well, hospitality businesses across the UK are facing unprecedented cost pressures from rising wages, energy bills, business rates and operating costs.

Campaign organisers argue that a VAT reduction would help protect jobs, support local businesses, encourage investment and strengthen town centres and high streets.

The UK currently has one of the highest hospitality VAT rates in Europe, while many European countries operate reduced rates between 7% and 10%.

Hospitality venues are being encouraged to ask staff, customers, suppliers, friends and family to sign the petition and spread the message.

This campaign isn’t just about pubs, restaurants and cafés – thriving hospitality businesses help drive footfall for all independent retailers and high street businesses.

Businesses can support by:
✓ Signing the petition
✓ Sharing it on social media
✓ Including the link in emails and newsletters
✓ Displaying campaign materials and QR codes in-store.

The message is simple: A 10% VAT rate is fair for hospitality and fair for Britain’s high streets.
