Originally built on the old packhorse route between Bingley and Ilkley, Dick Hudsons began life in an old farmhouse as an inn called The Plough Boy. When Eldwick Road closed, the business was moved to its present site, then called Highgate Farm. Thomas Hudson took over the inn in 1809, but it was during the tenure of his son, Dick Hudson between 1850-1878 that the pub became renowned for it's food and hospitality.

Tom recently joined our team while he’s back home from Newcastle University during the summer and Christmas breaks. He’s currently studying Sports Science and also works in hospitality at football stadiums accross the uk⚽🍻

Tom’s quick wit and great sense of humour always keep the team smiling, but he’s just as well known for being polite, caring, and always happy to help. Whether he’s chatting with guests or supporting the team, he brings a brilliant attitude to every shift.

We’re so pleased to have Tom with us whenever he’s home from uni – be sure to say hello if you see him around the pub! 💚👋
