FROM COLOMBIA TO WESTWARD HO!

Ever wondered where the coffee in your morning flat white actually comes from?

Our house espresso, BS1 from Triple Co Roast, starts its journey thousands of miles from Westward Ho!, high in the mountains around Buesaco, Colombia.

The coffee is grown by a community of smallholder farmers working with the Procaal cooperative, led by long-term Triple Co partners Jose Gomez and Pablo Guerrero.

And this is where the story gets interesting.

Procaal buys the coffee from the farmers while it is still wet and in parchment. The cooperative then takes responsibility for the crucial drying process. This gives them greater control over quality, reduces the risk of unpredictable weather damaging a farmer’s crop, and helps ensure producers receive a fair and sustainable price throughout the year.

Procaal also gives local growers access to knowledge, quality control and the speciality coffee market. It means the people growing the coffee aren’t simply at the beginning of the supply chain. They’re part of it.

The beans then make their way to Triple Co Roast in Bristol, where they’re roasted to create BS1, an espresso designed to be sweet, smooth and ridiculously easy to drink.
It gives milk chocolate, sticky caramel and a little kick of juicy red fruit at the end.

So that cup you’re holding at SOS has travelled quite a way to get here.

Buesaco, Colombia → Bristol → Westward Ho!

Grown with care. Bought with purpose. Roasted to perfection. Poured with love.

Yesterday reminded us what really matters.

Family. Friends. Familiar faces. First time visitors. Our partners and suppliers. People who travelled from near and far. All coming together to share good conversations, great connections and time well spent.

In a world that moves so fast, there is still nothing more valuable than genuine human connection. Community isn’t something you can manufacture. It’s built, one conversation, one smile and one shared moment at a time.

We’re incredibly grateful that so many of you chose to celebrate with us. Thank you for supporting an independent business, believing in what we’re building, and making our third anniversary one we’ll never forget.

We feel very fortunate to be part of this community.

Here’s to the next chapter. We’ll keep showing up and doing our best to create a place that’s always worth coming back to.

Slow Coffee. Crafted with Intention.

A pour over is one of the purest ways to experience speciality coffee.

Unlike an espresso, where water is pushed through the coffee under pressure, a pour over is brewed by hand. We slowly pour fresh water over freshly ground coffee in carefully controlled stages, allowing it to pass gently through the grounds before dripping into your cup.

That slower process gives us complete control over the extraction. The result is a cleaner, lighter cup that reveals the coffee’s natural character.

You’ll notice flavours that can often be hidden in milk based drinks. Chocolate, caramel, citrus, berries, stone fruits or delicate florals, depending on the coffee we’re brewing that day.

Every pour over is made to order. No rushing. No shortcuts. Just great coffee, brewed with care.

If you’ve never tried one before, this is where to start. It might just change the way you think about coffee.
