The Refresh on the Road team had their alarms set for 4am this morning because today they are set up at Cosford Air Show! 🌅 ✈️
It’s always a popular one so the team wanted to be fully prepared before the excited crowds arrived!

Lucy joined the team earlier this month so you may have already seen her smiling face around Refresh! She enjoys reading, writing, travelling and meeting people; which is perfect with new and familiar faces popping into the cafe each day.

Saw some fantastic ideas for your garden at the Apley or Bicton Heath Open Gardens recently? Put your inspiration into action and grab some plants this Saturday at Beacalls Lane! 🌱

Green-fingered gardeners are in for a treat this Saturday (13 June) - a plant sale takes place at our Superstore on Beacalls Lane in Shrewsbury.

Not only will there be a huge selection of plants on sale, there will also be gardening books and other goodies too.

And there will also be a chance to win £100 gardening voucher and tombola prizes.

Doors open at 9am and the sale goes on until 5pm but be quick, last year's event was a sell out.

Good Morning!
Refresh will be closing at 2:30pm today so the team can prepare for the annual Bicton Open Gardens on tomorrow 🪴
Don’t worry though, you can still get our delicious coffee and cake to takeaway until 4:30pm!

Susie is probably a familiar face to all our regular customers to Refresh; she’s the self-made Hostess of Dreams!
After being a nurse for 34 years, it’s pretty fair to say that she loves people. She can be found front of house at Refresh, greeting customers and seating groups ready for their delicious food & drinks.
Her favourite part of volunteering with us is helping people, and since she retired from nursing she has found her place here with us doing just that!

Next in our volunteer spotlight for Volunteer’s Week is Lisa.
Lisa is a relatively new volunteer to Refresh, but she’s thrown herself into the action and is always reliable during her hours with us!
Lisa joined us after having experienced the care Severn Hospice provided to her family, and felt strongly that she wanted to give back her support after, in her own words, “the wonderful care they provided”. Her favourite things about volunteering with us is getting to know everyone and supporting in the cafe wherever she can.
We’re beyond thrilled to have Lisa on board with us during the week!

It’s Volunteer’s Week, and we’re celebrating our wonderful volunteers (even more) this week!
Last week, you met Jo, and today we’re introducing Di.
Di is a familiar face around Refresh and helps out whenever she can. Her favourite parts of the role are being with people and meeting everyone from all walks of life. She loves to understand the customers and enjoys working in a lovely environment.
As well as Refresh, you might also find Di in the Severn Hospice shop in Bicton Heath, as she also volunteers there!

It’s been a very exciting day at Refresh today!
Clare Ashford and some of the team from BBC Radio Shropshire set up in our outdoor seating area and went live across the county in celebration of the Severn Hospice’s Perry Ward being reopened after a huge renovation.

Clare popped in to grab a quick interview with Manager Jane and Deputy Manager Grant, asking about our work in the cafe and how we support the local community.

Some of our team are a bit camera shy, but we managed to get them in for a team photo after some persuading!
