Hello everyone ! It’s been a while …. We are now well and truly settled in to our new home at 39 , western Road , and have just completed our first week ✅
It’s been fantastic .

As Hughies has shut its doors for the last time , I would like to Thank everyone for the best last Day you could have given us .

It was like one last summers day for the Road !

The Sun shone fiercely all day…..no wind !! and you all turned up in force . Thankyou for letting us be such an important part in your life , whether it be on your daily walk or your weekly meet up with friends, your cake stop off or your lunch break . You have told me how special this place is to you . Thankyou for appreciating the hard work and saying such lovely things to us .

Was lovely to have all my family come down , and for them to say how happy they have been I have been able to continue Hughies Memory for as long as I was able to ❤️ It’s been the greatest pleasure .

Thankyou to My Son Fin Hendley - who has been by my side , often being the face of Hughies when I’ve been busy baking - and a brilliant job he did ! Everyone has said how much they love you and how great you are , so be proud of yourself !

Thanks to my Mum who makes our very popular sausage rolls and who is never to busy to help , even when she needs a rest and is in pain she gets herself to Hughies and helps me. Always appreciate it . Love you Mum .

Thanks to Jill , who stayed till the bitter end , always helping out when you could, working hard and always having a smile on your face .

So this is it , I will Miss it as much as you all will ( probably a tiny bit more 🥺 ) .

But I hope to see lots of you “ up the road “

As we head into our last weekend , I would like to once again Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, really and truly the comments and thankyou’s from you all have been overwhelming . I can’t thank everyone enough & will never stop being so so grateful for the wonderfull times we’ve all shared !!

( can you tell I’m dragging the goodbye’s out 🙁)

Once we close and the new Hughies in town opens I will be signing in on the new page , to save confusion and to make sure you can keep up with opening times etc… . But this page will always stay and you can share photos and memories if you like or just have a scroll through it 🩵

Hello to all my lovely customers 🩵 Sorry for lack of posts , my phone broke so havn’t been able to get onto my page for a few days ….

Anyway , it seems we have it confirmed by a source that the owner of the collonnade cafe will be taking on the reat of the collonnade or at the very least has expressed an interest, perhaps this is the reason we are not able to receive first refusal 🤔

Just to refresh everyones memory , that is the same person who also owns the two kiosks next to us which have never actually been used to trade from but just used as mere store rooms ( on a prime seafront location - beggers belief) and the person who won’t permit us to move our tables infront of those two CLOSED doors , even when it rains .

I guess I should be flattered that our tiny little kitchen , and our 11 tables have been a threat to someone who owns multiple businesses and a cafe with as much potential as the collonnade .

So , do with that information what you wish , forget it or maybe when the “ refurbs “ are complete and the next summer comes , remember it …….

Hello lovely people , it’s been a long day getting jobs done for our new cafe….. our last weeks at Hughies are now underway and what a shame we seem to be having so much rain right when we want to make the most of the time we have left there 😭

Can i just remind everyone on this page , head over to our new page like share and all that jazz …. So that you can keep up with when we open and all the latest info , as that will be the page i post on once we close Hughies beach cafe. I’m so lucky to have over 1k people on this page , but only just over 100 on our new page so if you havn’t yet, go and like it 😌
