Our wonderful village has bought the pub and we are now open as a community business. Our kitchen under our Head Chef Jim Miles offers food 6 days a week Tuesday to Sunday, including our fabulous Sunday Roasts! Our cafe is open 10.00-12.00 Monday to Friday, with hot drinks and locally made cakes available throughout the day.

Fun and games at The George throughout the bank holiday weekend, rounding up on Monday with pool and darts tournaments (12:30 sign-up, 1 pm start), a barbecue and live music between 1 and 3 pm with Matt Hopwood - always a crowd pleaser. We’re looking forward to welcoming Jamie “Hatman” Foreman to The George on Friday 28 August between 7 and 9 pm. The acoustic guitarist and solo singer will be entertaining us in the beer garden, and we’ll also be running our full restaurant service from 5.30 pm. And as ever we’ll be serving excellent beers (including three local real ales) and fabulous wines. So why not join us for an evening of great food, drink and music? 🎼🎶🎤

A traditional Kentish Best bitter - the aroma is toffee malt with a lovely malt flavour along with hops and red berries. It's got a full body and lingering bitter finish.

Our salt and pepper squid is both spicy and tangy, and a glass of Provence rosé really brings out the flavours. And the pork, leek and cider pie of the week, with buttered greens and creamed potatoes, is bursting with taste and texture.
