A little kindness, please ❤️
Since announcing that Moochers will be closing, we’ve seen a lot of comments and opinions about why we’ve made this decision. We completely understand that everyone is entitled to their view, but we’d really ask people to be a little more sensitive and, please, stop making assumptions about our business, our decisions and what has happened behind the scenes.
What people don’t see is just how much we have personally invested into Moochers — financially, emotionally and physically. This wasn’t simply a business to us. It was our dream. We put everything we could into creating a warm, welcoming place, serving homemade food and building something we could be proud of.
Having to accept that dream isn’t going to continue is absolutely heartbreaking. We are genuinely devastated.
We’re not looking for sympathy, and we’re certainly not saying everyone has to love Moochers or agree with every decision we made. But before making a comment about why we failed, what we should have done differently, or making assumptions about our circumstances, please remember that you don’t know the full story.
There are real people behind Moochers who have worked incredibly hard and are now having to walk away from something they cared deeply about.
So please, think before you comment. A little kindness and understanding would mean more than you realise. ❤️
