Last year, we achieved a dream 15 years in the making when we were crowned Best Café in Derbyshire at the prestigious Derbyshire Food & Drink Awards.

A new festival is coming to Belper this summer, with the first Love Belper Town Festival taking place on Sunday 26th July 2026.

Belper will be bursting with music, dance, theatre, crafts and food, bringing people of all ages together to celebrate the town’s heritage. Highlights will include vaudeville-style street performers alongside local dance groups, choirs, bands and DJ sets, with a programme designed to showcase the talent, creativity and distinctive character of Belper.

The festival is being organised by Love Belper CIC as part of a wider year of activity, marking 250 years since Jedediah Strutt’s first water-powered cotton mill, which transformed Belper from a village into the world’s first factory town.

The festival will start at 12 noon and finish at 5pm on Sunday 26th July 2026 with stalls and entertainment across the town on King St, Campbell St, Strutt St, Market Place and Memorial Gardens.

It’s going to be a celebration created by the community, for the community and rooted firmly in the heart of the high street….so please pop the date in your calendar and look forward to seeing you there.

A huge thank you to each and every one of you for all the love and support you’ve shown us this weekend. ❤️

After our post about the heatwave, you really did rally around us, and we can’t tell you how much it meant. So many of you went out of your way to pop in and support our little independent business, and we are incredibly grateful.

Saturday was one of our busiest days in a long time, so if service was a little slower than usual, thank you for your patience and understanding. Our team worked so hard in the heat to look after everyone, and your kindness made all the difference.

Every coffee, breakfast, lunch, cake and ice cream you bought this weekend genuinely helped. Thank you for choosing to support local—it means more than you’ll ever know.

To our wonderful customers, this has been one of the toughest weeks we’ve had in a long time. The heat has kept so many people at home, and our sales have been incredibly quiet. Unfortunately, our wages, bills and overheads don’t stop.

If you’re local, please consider supporting us this weekend. Whether it’s a takeaway coffee, homemade whippy ice cream, our new iced matcha, lunch with us, or something delicious to take home, every purchase really does make a difference.

Our deli is packed with freshly prepared salads, homemade salmon roulade, house-cooked meats, chef-made ready meals including lasagne, Greek spanakopita and beef bourguignon, plus freshly baked artisan bread.
