Well this is it team.

Today we will open and close our doors for the last time.

Writing that down is real hard but is filled with hope for exciting things to come and, wait for it, for weekends! And peace. Through the moments where not having this place fills with me panic, there is also peace.

This little shop, and our spaces before this, have been at the centre of my everything for a long time.

The spaces have been special but it’s you lot, the people that have filled them that have made them and the stories and the laughter and the tears and the secret gins that I will always carry with me. What an absolute privilege that you all walked through my door.

Thank you for welcoming me into this town that I now can’t imagine not being my home.

I am not too sure yet what I will do with my time, what I will do with this page and what I will do with 9 tit towels. That’s tomorrows problem.

For now, I'll be off to see friends I havn't spent proper time with in a long time and to hang out with my long suffering, wonderful family.

Look after each other and have a joyful Christmas time ~ kindness is always king.

Our doors, at 46 Mill Street will be closing for Christmas on the 22nd December this year. A few days earlier than usual and this time round, we won’t be reopening them in the new year.

I am so proud of everything we have achieved here in our beautiful little shop on the corner.

Leaving something I love is something I’ve zig-zagged between for a long time now but if you have a ni**le that doesn’t go away then I guess the only way to solve it is to muster up the courage to act on it.

So here I am, mustering up all of the courage to leave something that I love so dearly, so very dearly, but to move on to something which will create more balance and more time.

Feeling a whole tornado of emotions but at the eye of it all is such lot of gratitude.

Gratitude for everything I’ve had, gratitude for everything I have and gratitude for everything I hope will come.

Thank you for always being our cheerleaders. We sure will miss your delightful faces.

💙 Be a light in the dark this Christmas 💙

There’s a few things in this world that I’m proud of & one of them is working alongside a fabulous local charity, Friends for Life Bedford, supporting care home residents at risk of loneliness.

This year instead of Santa’s mug on our cups we’ve got a shout out to Friends for Life & an opportunity for you to support them too if your kind heart so desires.

Monday, Monday 🎄

It’s our favourite time of year in our pad so we are loving being open all week round & seeing so many of your cheery, festive faces.

We are busy over here squeezing out every inch of Christmas spirit and enjoying every day in the lead up, the best of it if you ask us. Sometimes it’s such a busy time we forget to do that.

The worlds still wonky but there’s always sparkle & hope to be found if you look in the right places, right? Thank you to all of you who are swinging by 💙.

It's Small But Bloody Mighty Business Saturday.

I'm not always sure how I feel about 'small' being associated with so many businesses 'cause let me tell ya:

If you make a difference to someones day, you are not small.

If you have been brave enough to make the leap to do something you love, you are not small.

If you are doing something alone or with a couple of muggles, conquering sometimes slightly overwhelming to do lists and still smiling, you are not small.

If you are still standing tall after this last couple of years, you, my friend, are nothing but a big deal.

But then again, our shop is pretty tiny and I guess you gotta classify these things somehow so we will let this one go for the sake of celebrating our wonderful independence and all the other wonderful independents in our small but absolutely mighty town.

If you know and love an independent shop or if you've been meaning to visit one you haven't in a while, today is the day you brilliant cheerleaders.

Visit them, shout about them & be proud that our town is filled to the brim with them.

We love it when our little pad on the corner is filled with you lot, filled with chatter, filled with laughter, filled with tales but there’s something special about this end of day reflection with just us two hanging out and a few tunes on the speakers.

Tea & the gang gracing our shelves with their whole leaf tea in recyclable bags ~ little show offs.

We always reserve a space in the tea cupboard for The Explorer (a little lemon &
ginger number) and The Viking (a liquorice delight coming from someone who would normally run if approached with an Allsort).

On a quiet afternoon, I sometimes use the personalities to put together a band worthy of a Eurovision entry. This week we’ve got The Butler on lead vocals.

Whatever your favourite, the whole crew are back together again in our little pad on Mill Street.

We hear so many different points of view & opinions in our box on the corner & really it’s a pleasure. It keeps us on our toes, it keeps us thinking, learning.

Restrictions lifting today, as you might have guessed, is no exception.

Whatever you choose to do, while you’re in our four walls we ask that you continue to respect each other and pack your pockets full with kindness.

You are welcome if you continue to wear a mask.
You are welcome if you come without a mask, respecting others in our space.
You are welcome if you come in flippers and a fruit bowl hat. Just a personal favourite.
You are welcome if you’re feeling a little wonky about things changing again today. Come talk to us and we will do our best to make your visit the least wonky possible.
