A quieter month here, but the most exciting time of year is officially BACK.

Chilly evenings tucked away in The Jetty, dipping all your favourite picky bits into giant pots of cheese or gravy. If there was one thing to get us through the darker evenings and shorter days, this would be it.

The pub and hotel are open as usual, and Après at The Jetty will be open from 5-8pm on Fridays & Saturdays, and 12-3pm on Sundays.

Don’t hang around, tables are disappearing faster than last year 🫕

Glam Rampage are bringing the glitter, guitars and rock anthems to The Kingfisher on Saturday 3rd October.

Doors open at 6pm with a Dogs & Sliders buffet until 7.30pm, and the music kicks off at 7pm.

Après at The Jetty is back at The Kingfisher from 2nd October. Friday and Saturday, 5 to 8pm, it's the cheese fondue set menu with flat iron steak, chargrilled chicken breast and Woburn sausage. Sundays, 12 to 3pm, the gravy fondue roast with your choice of chicken, beef or gammon, plus all the trimmings.

From £30pp based on two sharing. A £10pp deposit secures the table.

WANTED: someone who can plate a dessert and hold their nerve on a Saturday night 🍽️

We're on the hunt for a Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at The Kingfisher. You'll be cooking with veg grown a mile down the road and meat from within 15, in a pub that sits right on the river. Not a bad office view, that.

Here's the bit you actually want to know:

- 45 hours a week
- Starting at £31,005, negotiable for the right person, with tips on top
- Meals on shift, staff discounts across the group, and plenty of other perks
- Real chances to develop and move up within the team

What we're after: previous experience on the line, a calm head when the tickets start flying, and a proper love of food. If you've got a knack for desserts and pastry, even better.

We're a small, friendly team who take the cooking seriously and ourselves a bit less so. If that sounds like your sort of kitchen, we'd love to hear from you.
