For centuries, Ukrainian women gathered after sundown.

Vechornytsi we call it

A house, a long table, women of all ages. The older ones brought wisdom. The younger ones brought questions. Hands stayed busy shaping dough, spinning thread, and in that rhythm, something passed between them. Knowledge. Stories. The kind of things that only travel from hand to hand.
We are bringing this tradition to Bridport this June.
Hand-made varenyky. A shared meal. Live cello music by Mykola Lysenko — the composer who believed a nation lives as long as its songs do.

And the feeling of being at a table where women are truly, fully present.

We're running a series of intimate Ukrainian cultural evenings and craft food workshops in Bridport. Small rooms, real process, nothing staged.

Mmmm... my lovely memories from Greece. Walking down the long coastal roads, here and there small bistro and café, only locals know them. Starting the day with a strong coffee and serious slice of so traditional. So many layers thin as to***co sheets filo dough wrapping braised spinach and creamy sheep feta cheese.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, dear friends!

I hope you all have a fantastic time with people you love!

For us, it is a very special time and feels even more emotional being unrooted. Therefore, saving traditions is crucial.
What do you know about ?

We do celebrate starting Christmas Eve on the 24th of December.
We have 12 lent dishes honouring 12 saints, we make a special ritual porridge called wheat with poppyseed, nuts, and raisins soaked in - dried fruit drink with honey. We do all sorts of with stewed , curd cheese, sour cherries, and lots of more stuffing! We light the candle and call the souls of passed away relatives to join the meal. We pray and ask for goodness.

But on the 25th, the Christmas day, we have a feast!
It is very common to have goose or duck, salad and fermented goods, meat jelly - . traditional for pudding!
And it's so far not everything we do 😇
