We’re delighted to introduce the wonderfully talented Jacki Lowry (.art) as our August Artist of the Month at Koko’S Gerrards Cross. 🌿☕

Jacki’s beautiful artwork is now bringing colour, energy and a touch of creativity to our café walls, creating the perfect backdrop to enjoy your coffee, brunch or a little moment of calm. ✨

Here’s a little Q&A to get to know them better:

🎨 What inspires your art?
👉 My paintings are inspired by emotions created by the natural world, flowers, and places I have visited.
•
🎨 How would you describe your style?
👉 I draw elements from the impressionist movement and from modern abstract artists. The use of abstract techniques allows me to capture impressions, moods and emotions in my paintings - each one is unique and allows the viewer to interpret them in a number of ways.
•
🎨 Which piece here means the most to you, and why?
👉 I love all the pieces for different reasons. A piece of art captures the mood and the moment and therefore I try very hard not to have favourites!
•
🍰 Favourite thing on our menu?
👉 A cappuccino with a delicious cake, as I have such a sweet tooth!

10 days ago, we welcomed our July Artist of the Month, ✨ ✨, to in Gerrards Cross.
•
In just over a week, Heather has transformed our walls with her stunning collection of original paintings, hosted a hugely successful Preview Evening & led a wonderful painting workshop that was creative, relaxing, and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.
•
Guests spent the afternoon painting in the comfort of our air-conditioned café while keeping refreshed with delicious coffee and cake…. what could be better? ☕🎨🍰
•
If you haven’t visited yet, there’s still time to experience Heather’s beautiful exhibition. All of the original artwork is available to purchase, but it’s only on display until the end of July. We’d love to welcome you!

We’re so excited to introduce Heather McDowell Koko’S Gerrards Cross.. whose beautiful work is brightening up our café walls this month! 🌿☕

Here’s a little Q&A to get to know them better:
•
🎨 What inspires your art?
👉 Pleasure! Things that make me think “Look at that!” or “This feels so good!”
I have moved through several bodies of work over the last 14 years of painting - landscapes on holiday, large scale florals, interesting buildings and right now, dance. There’s something about matching the joy of seeing and feeling with the joy of creating it in paint.
•
🎨 How would you describe your style?
👉 I take inspiration from artists like Matisse and Kandinsky who threw out the rules and made work that pleased them first. Strong colours, unusual viewpoints and combinations from a solid foundation of drawing practice.
•
🎨 Which piece here means the most to you, and why?
👉 My favourite piece is always the one I’m working on right now! I love the challenge of deciding what combination of media, tools and mark making will really satisfy me on this subject. Once it’s done, I’m excited to wave it off to a new home.
•
🍰 Favourite thing on our menu?
👉 The coffee is SO GOOD, especially with a pastry - anything with almonds😍.

🎨 What inspires your art?
“All the facets of nature and colour. From the largest tree to the smallest flower.”

🎨 How would you describe your style?
“I’m a countryside girl at heart and at my happiest when painting my vision of what’s around me. From trees to hedgerows, sunrises to sunsets, over land and sea, in the hope of uplifting the spirits of others.”
•
🎨 Which piece here means the most to you, and why?
“Lily’s Water World has my love at the moment because it’s taken over 18 months to reach its completion.”
•
☕ Favourite thing on our menu?
“Chocolate cheesecake brownie with a pot of tea — yummy!”
