Griddled strips of lamb with a mild pickle as a starter pays homage to the thousands of 'Shekuwa' shops dotted around Nepal's towns and cities. They're small shacks with tarpaulin roofs serving mini grilled kebabs with beaten rice and a painfully hot salad, washed down with b**r or wh***ey. We have made a couple of concessions to the Western palate here, mainly dialling down the heat.

There is an outage in our area, we have reported it but the providers can't fix it untill after the weekend. Please just come along to the restaurant we have tables free including our garden tables. You can phone us if you would like to check, please understand that the phones in the restaurant are also down and we are having to take calls from our mobiles. Pride of place in the Everest room is this unassuming old backpack. This is a veteran, a hero amongst backpacks, it’s been on no fewer than 5 Everest expeditions, and still muddied from the effort. If only it could tell stories.
