I'm taking a little break!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Hatties will be closed from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August, and we'll be reopening on Monday 10th August.

I'll be using the week to carry out a few improvements around Hatties, as well as taking the opportunity for a well earned rest to recharge my batteries.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful customers for your continued support, it really does mean the world to me.

I can't wait to welcome you back on Monday 10th August, refreshed, recharged and ready to serve you all over again!

See you soon,

Nathalie 🩷

Tomorrow (Wednesday) marks one whole year since I opened the doors at Hatties and honestly, I can’t quite believe how quickly the time has gone.

What an amazing, exciting and enjoyable first year it has been. I have loved getting to know so many wonderful customers, seeing familiar faces each week and becoming part of the local community.

To celebrate, I would love to invite you to pop in tomorrow for a glass of fizz and a French macaron as a little thank you for all your support over the past year.

Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or have only recently discovered Hatties, I'm so grateful. You have made this first year so special and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.

I would love to see you tomorrow to celebrate together.

With love,

Nathalie x

Spring has arrived at Hatties 🌸🐰

We’ve given the front of the shop a lovely little Easter refresh and Peter Rabbit has officially taken his place outside to welcome you in.

Pop by for artisan coffee, handmade sandwiches, freshly baked cakes and a cosy catch up while you enjoy the new look. We think they’ve made Hatties feel even more cheerful for the season.

We’d love to see you at Hatties over Easter.

Now at Hatties… treats for the dogs too. 🐶

We’re a dog friendly coffee shop and sandwich bar, so it only felt right that while the mums and dads enjoy their coffee and food, the doggies get something tasty as well.

We’ve now started stocking natural dog treats in the shop, so your four legged friends can enjoy a little treat when they visit too.

Pop in with your baby, grab a coffee and make your Hatties stop a treat for everyone.

Hatties - Coffee, food and now something for the dogs as well.

A customer was chatting with me the other day about her childhood, and she mentioned a cake her nanny used to make, a traditional seed cake.

The way she described it stayed with me. Simple. Familiar. The kind of cake that quietly belongs beside a cup of tea.

So this week, I made one.

No fancy decoration. No fuss. Just honest, proper baking, lightly buttery, gently flavoured with caraway seeds, and exactly the sort of cake that’s been shared in kitchens for generations.

Sometimes the old recipes are the best ones.

If you fancy a slice of something traditional, it’s on the counter this week at Hatties ☕🍰

And if it brings back a memory of your own, I’d love to hear it.

We’ve added some gorgeous new Christmas decorations around the shop, from our beautiful wreath on the door to the cutest handmade felt cakes, pastries and macarons dotted around the counter. They look almost good enough to eat! All handmade by our very talented daughter. 💗🍰

Pop in, warm up, and soak up the festive vibes while enjoying your favourite drink or a slice of something sweet.
We’re open and ready to sprinkle a little Christmas magic into your day. ✨💖

Our festive decorations are up and we’re feeling VERY merry!
If you’ve driven past today, you’ll have spotted our new Christmas garland, twinkling baubles, and our Christmas cupcake on the rooftop 🎅🧁❄️

• Sweet cranberry sauce
All beautifully layered in a warm, freshly made sandwich.
It tastes like Christmas in every bite. ❤️

There will also be delicious home baked Christmasy cakes.
