Thank you to everyone who supported us at Barleylands food market yesterday - lovely to see so many of you again. I am so pleased that you enjoy our honey.

Good evening sushi lovers!

Well, roll me up and call me a cucumber maki! It has been too hot the last week or so. Didn't stop us being at Barleylands yesterday though! Thank you to everyone who came and had a look and a bite or 3 to eat!

Saturday we are going to be back at Scott's of Southend. Looking to grab a snack? Maybe some lunch or some pickings for a midnight snack? (I don't judge, I just make the snacks).

Also, something new that I did sell at Barleylands, though I need to get a shorter name.....

Soy-sriracha pork sushi style onigiri! Picture attached from practice. Seling these little beauties at £2 each or grab 2 for £3.50.

Cannot take orders at the moment due to a technical issue, but i can take orders for Saturday (pre order time finishes at 10pm FRIDAY NIGHT).

Good afternoon sushi lovers!

Tomorrow we are back at Barleylands for the Gourmet Food and Craft Market. Anyone after anything in particular from the stall, free free to send a message before 10pm so that I can get it made and set aside just for you! Due to being a market, I only make a set amount of food each time, so pre-order to make sure you avoid disappointment!

There will be many interesting stalls at this market. Honey, books, cakes of different kinds (Precious Cakes with Love do a celiac and vegan friendly line), you have old familiar and new stalls to investigate.

Come and have an explore, and hopefully cya then (and wish me luck sleeping in this heat before I make all the sushi at midnight).

P.s. still very toasty today and tomorrow, make sure to drink loads of fluids!

Good afternoon sushi lovers (yet again).

This is your public safety announcement that where it is going to be toasty this bank holiday weekend (and half term), there will be more chance of heat stroke. Heat stroke is not fun, it can be serious and I don't want you guys to suffer!

So....

1. Drink water. Lots of it. Even if you think you ain't thirsty and you worry you are gonna p*e loads.

2. Put on the sunscreen! Sunburn is also not fun (trust me on this one).

3. Get under shade if you are feeling dizzy and follow rule no 1.

4. For the love of pets, don't take your dogs out for a walk in the middle of the day! You try walking on hot pavement and you.will know how they will feel. Make sure your canine companions are also catered for, and make sure there is plenty of water available for them (same for other pets too, not just dogs).

With this in mind, have fun and enjoy the bank holiday!

Good afternoon sushi lovers!

The win and fail(?) of this week!

Win: Made japanese snack called Honey lemon. Helps after working out, can be eaten fully (including rhe p*el). Syrup can be made into a refreshing drink mixed with water.

Fail(?): Made Aussie Lemonade Monster Energy Drink Jelly. Nice, refreshing, not fizzy. Potential fail as people were enjoying that more the the coffee jelly....

Good afternoon sushi lovers! How are we all doing with the temperamental weather as of late?

Nothing much happening on my end now, except for testing a new product. The product? Coffee jelly!

In the picture, we got 3 different flavours. Original coffee flavour, vanilla latte flavour, and mocha flavour. I have had some results back from them. So far vanilla is the firm favourite, the mocha tastes like tiramisu, and the original coffee is so strong it could bring zombies back to life!

More testing next week to make.it weaker and prettier. Anyone know where to get some clear pretty plastic glasses to do this in?

Good evening sushi lovers!

Sorry for the silence last weekend. We were rather busy with preparing our bear cub with her first Martial Arts competition! It was an interesting event to attend, being as in my younger bear years I was doing competitions in the Sea Cadets, so I was doing a lot of comparisons.

In other news, I am free for a couple of weekends, so time to explore and see other places to trade, or new recipes, or practice. This Saturday (if all goes well) we are considering having a looksee at Wickford Market. What do you think?

So the results are in for onigiri....

First Place: Soy-Sriracha Pork.
Second Place: Ginger Chicken.
Third Place: Salmon Mayo.

Thank you all for voting for your favourite ideas. They shall make an appearance on 24th May. I will show pics of attempts between now and then.
