After 28 incredible years, the time has finally come for my dad to retire.
To all of our amazing customers, thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your kindness, and for supporting our family business over the last 28 years. Many of you have watched us grow up, and we will never forget the memories weβve made along the way. All the kitchen, counter and delivery staff who helped us make this happen.
To my dadβ¦
You are the hardest-working, most selfless man I have ever known.
You raised your daughters on your own while running a business seven days a week. There were no shortcuts, no easy days, and very little time for yourself. Every sacrifice you made was so your girls could have a better life.
Growing up, people at school assumed that because our dad owned a business, we must have been spoiled.
The reality couldnβt have been more different.
From a young age, you taught us the true value of money. You showed us how hard it is to earn, and if we wanted something, we had to work for it. Nothing was handed to us, because you wanted us to understand that everything worth having is earned through hard work, honesty, and determination. Those lessons have stayed with us for life, and I wouldnβt change them for anything.
One thing that has always broken my heart is hearing you say that you wish you had learned to speak English when you were younger, and because of that, you sometimes feel like you havenβt achieved much in life.
I wish you could see yourself through my eyes.
You came to a country where you couldnβt speak the language. Despite every obstacle, you built a successful business that served the community for 28 years. You provided for your family, put food on the table, gave your daughters opportunities you never had, and earned the respect of so many people.
That is success.
You have accomplished more than many people who were born here ever will.
You are, and always will be, my biggest inspiration. Everything I know about resilience, determination, humility, and the importance of family came from watching you.
Itβs finally your time to rest, enjoy life, and be proud of everything youβve achieved.
We love you, Dad. Thank you for everything.
And to everyone who has supported China City over the past 28 years THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We will be forever grateful. β€οΈ
