Match Report: Barrow Celtic Tigers U11 vs. Holker Old Boys Stags U11

Venue: Boyd Park

It was fantastic to finally get back out on the pitch at Boyd Park after the frustration of last week’s weather cancellation, and both teams certainly made up for lost time.

From the opening whistle, the game was played at an electric, end-to-end pace.

Both Barrow Celtic Tigers and Holker Old Boys Stags put on a display of high-quality football, with fast-flowing attacks and impressive skill being demonstrated right across the field.

A massive congratulations goes to this week’s Player of the Match, Jemima!

She set the standard from start to finish, driving the team forward with incredible determination and never giving up on a single ball.

Well done to all of our Tigers for putting in such a fantastic team performance and delivering a brilliant game of football! ⚽🐯

The sun was shining down on Hawcoat Park this morning as we hosted the group stage for the Autumn Cup - on paper there was always going to be entertaining games...and they certainly were! 💥

Sebastian #1
Some of the best saves made in a grassroots game of football you'll see - in group game 3! Feet, hands, and scrambling. It was his! Superb performance throughout the games with his awareness and no fear attitude! 🧱

Jacob #4
Tracked back well and showed an improved composure on the ball. Looked to find the right pass and even had a dribble. Linked up well with his defensive partners. 🔗

Kobie #8
Ferocious in the tackle and battled for every single ball. Great link up play and drove forward well to create lots of chances. Unbelievable effort that was rewarded with goals this morning, in each match! ⚡

Noah #9
Solid and strong throughout all 3 games! Whipped in some beautiful crosses and switched play. Eager to want the ball. A well taken hat trick in game 1 set him up for a great morning! 🔥

Harry #10
Showed an eagerness to win the ball, battled hard and looked to find the right pass and then move. Made a great impact on games when sat in the middle with some great first time passes which allowed link up. 💪🏻

Ran fast and hard to get the ball today. Showed a persistent attitude and wanted to be involved in all areas. Used his body well in the tackle and didn't panic! Found himself with a few good opportunities throughout the morning which came close! 💯

His hunger was unreal today!Link up play, drive and tenacious approach to win that ball was outstanding. He hunted the opposition down to win the ball and when he had it was driving forward! 🦁

Played across all outfield positions today and did not disappoint! Excellent energy to drive the team forward and create some chances but some well taken goals, a highlight!
