Jack's Snax has officially closed down until compensation is paid and my health restored.All due to the actions of North Devon Council . Councillors and MP's were made aware from the start of closing the car park and the head of the council claimed he could not step in because it is a legal matter.How can you label it a legal matter and still leave 2 families to suffer? . Anyone feeling disturbed by this violation and truly cares about your town can bypass the council and complain direct here to their ombudsman . I would like to personally thankyou everyone for their words of support and concern over the past few months.They have truly kept me going in the hope the council would have done the right thing in time.Sadly not. . You will continue to see me out and about with the kids while I dig my way out of this mess.And with any luck I will be able to restart the business and carry on doing what I love.For now I have little mouths to feed so I have signed on and will find alternate work.Wish us luck!. Good evening all.As some of you are probably aware , queens street car park is having an over hall.Re surface .New pedestrian layout and joining with bear street car park.Work will finish late September at the earliest.problem is our council don't seem to think it will effect our trade or that of bear street.Well it has.To the tune of £1000 per week.And I am a very small business.So I am approaching $10,000 lost revenue since work began and Cristina has been forced to find a new job.I have spoken with those managing this in person and been frank about the financial impact. They know myself and my kids will lose our home.They know my over heads cannot be paid.They have chosen not to act on my urgent plea weeks ago, and on the warning of obvious interruption I gave them in March .The email I sent to our contact was acknowledged and then nothing done and no contact since. I guess we are just collateral damage.Remember that. Oh they did remember to confiscate my food waste bin when I missed my april payment so .So yeah cheers for that. :-P. Those who know me are aware that the business supports my young family.You also know that I try to be kind and have a little too much patience. Our council have exhausted this and have missed their opportunity to do the right thing. So I turn to the public for help and with that our council can add this act of aggression to their portfolio . There will be a press release soon. What ever the outcome I just want everyone to know that I will continue to show up for work and provide top service until they cut me off , kick me out or jail me for not being able to pay my council tax. Sadly this post is not about our awesome food, but my amazing jack's Snax 2nd in command. who has supported me greatly over the last 14 months . As some of you are aware Cristina had a house fire in South Molton yesturday. Thankfully none of her 3 children were seriously harmed. Apart from a minor burn to her older sons hand. The fire has destroyed all of their personal possessions. beds cloths furniture white goods and food etc. Any donations will help Cristina's family get settled into a new home and will be greatly appreciated.Thankyou.JS

Yesterday was a sad day for one of my closest friends. They lost a home to an unexpected housefire.

- Aged 18 Years + (Due to Licensing)
- Full Clean Driving licence required
- Have excellent people skills
- Work to strict timescales
- Complete tasks accurately each time
- Have Excellent personal hygiene and Maintain work area to a high level of cleanliness.
- Must be able to work flexibly with occasional overtime.

Experience preferred but not essential.Full training given in store.
Pay:
£8.36 per hour . Raising to £9.50 after completion of 3 month probation.

Guess it's officially a trilogy! 😭

With talk of this 3rd lockdown lasting until mid February ourselves and other small businesses are going to be crippled even further. I just hope the government put financial support in place quickly so we don't lose any more of our independent shops in Barnstaple.

We will be open as usual (extended hours to follow). And because we are covid secure we will keep our takeaway operating for walk in and collections. Last April we were delivery only.
