It’s been another busy week, which means an early and fresh start for our kitchen team!

We thought we’d give you a little glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes before the doors open. Here you can see our team preparing Chicken Tikka and Seekh Kebabs.

Everything is freshly prepared on the day, because we believe the time and care that goes into the preparation makes all the difference when it reaches your table.

FUN FACT!
Did you know the word “Tikka” means “pieces” or “chunks”? Chicken Tikka gets its name from the bite-sized pieces of chicken that are marinated in a delicious blend of spices before being cooked at a high heat.

And as you can see from our behind-the-scenes video, the preparation starts long before it reaches your plate!

What a week it’s been so far at Mumbai Lounge!

Since reopening our doors on Sunday 30th August, it’s fair to say it’s been a busy one — and honestly, busy doesn’t quite cover it!
We’ve welcomed so many familiar faces, as well as lots of new customers, and we genuinely cannot thank you enough for the incredible support you’ve shown us. ❤️
After being part of the Barnsley community for 16 years, reopening Mumbai Lounge has been a very special moment for all of us. Seeing the restaurant full, hearing the conversations, seeing old friends walk through the doors and meeting new customers has reminded us exactly why we love what we do.

Our customers will always come first.
We know that our first week has come with a few little teething issues, which we expected when reopening, and we’ve received some valuable feedback from customers along the way. Please know that we are listening, taking every bit of feedback seriously and, most importantly, actioning it.
Our aim is simple: no matter how busy we get, every customer should receive the service and experience they deserve. We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure we continue improving every single day.

The last two days have been absolutely non-stop at the restaurant, and honestly, we couldn’t be more grateful.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has walked through our doors, booked a table, brought friends and family, recommended us, shared our posts, or simply supported us from afar. It genuinely means more than you probably realise. 🙏

And behind every busy service is a team of people working hard to make it happen.

Image 1: There’s still plenty to finish, including the medium-grey ceiling, ceiling sky panels, pendant lighting, booth bases and window tinting. Once the sunlight is reduced, the darker interior will really bring out the mysterious, luxurious atmosphere we’re creating.
