It’s not me, it’s the Alzheimer’s

Meet Rachael the organiser behind our monthly dementia cafe held at our Mapplewell cafe once a month, as you can see from this video Rachael cares very deeply about those she supports and her own family dealing with this on a daily basis.

We ourselves know only too well how hard it can be to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s as our Nannan who is now settled in care home where they understand what her care needs are and the staff are brilliant at keeping her settled, this sadly has not always been the case 💖

Come and join us at our next session on Monday 21st September 10-11:30

This cafe isn’t just for those who have Alzheimer’s or Dementia, this is for those who may have loved ones who have Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
This is a safe space you can come and talk about your experiences, maybe gain some help, a new friend who understands what you are going through or just come for a cuppa and enjoy the atmosphere for a little while ☕️

I am now away on holiday until the 8th September

All enquiries will be answered on my return from the 8th September

If you do want to speak to us, either call in either shop or ring either and shop and staff will be happy to help you

Please note staff will not be able to take orders for cakes/cupcakes or buffets during this time, please wait until my return to order these

🌤️🌤️🌤️ BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 🌤️🌤️🌤️

Just a reminder that both our Town Centre & Mapplewell Cafe’s are closed for August Bank Holiday Monday.
Both open as normal Tuesday onwards.

Although we are busy bees picking and stewing our homegrown apples and rhubarb! Smells gorgeous 🤤

We’ve also picked some of our homegrown pears 🍐
They will be available this week to purchase on the counter

******* Customer Notice**********

This Wednesday 26th August out Victorian Arcade shop will be CLOSED for a family funeral

As some of you already know, on the 12th August my grandad George, 96 years young passed away, leaving a massive hole in all our hearts 💔

Whilst sat at his bedside in hospital, his last words to me were ‘Becky! Don’t you dare give up those shops, you’ve done bloody amazing’ 🥲
I can reassure you Grandad, I have absolutely no intentions of getting rid of either shop!

I know just how proud you were, from your first visit to the shop, the amount of people who visited asking who was George’s granddaughter and that he’d sent them to try it out and random passing people on the street who you told to come in 💖

Just after you passed a gentleman who was in hospital with you at the time, Les, he came in looking for me after you’d told him your life story and just how incredibly proud you were, my heart was bursting listening to this gentleman talking about your brief meeting on the ward, he too was gutted hearing about your passing.

You definitely touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of ever meeting you!

These SUPER SUNNY SALAD DAYS are lasting and we love it!!

Well you love it while we slave in the hot kitchens!!🤣🥵 yes believe it or not we are also still cooking plenty of hot food too!!😱

Since the sun has been out the salads have gone down a total treat we have lost count how many lettuce we have gone through 🤷‍♀️

Lots of combinations all of your choice as usual you eat what you like, just let us know.

Ham is the outright winner 🥇 though, we slice our own and the ham slicer has been on overtime (I am the ham slicer!!🤣)
