💔❤️🩹 It’s taken me a long time to write this post because it’s one I’ve been putting off for weeks. It’s a long one, and without doubt the hardest decision I’ve had to make.
When I opened the pottery painting café, I poured my heart into creating something that was more than just a business. I wanted it to be a safe, welcoming space where people could slow down, be creative, connect with others and, for a little while, forget about the stresses of everyday life. Seeing so many of you enjoy that space has meant more to me than you’ll ever know.
The difficult truth is that somewhere along the way, whilst I was so focused on this, my mental health was declining.
Many of you know I’ve been struggling personally for some time, and I’ve reached the point where I have to be honest with myself. If I don’t take the time to focus on my own mental health now, I won’t have anything left to give. As heartbreaking as it is, I’ve made the decision to close the shop.
This isn’t goodbye.
It’s simply a step away to allow myself the time and space to heal properly, recalibrate and deal with health problems, with the hope of coming back stronger. There are some exciting possibilities lined up for the future, but there are still things to work through before any details can be shared. As soon as I can, you’ll be the first to know. Social media pages will remain open and the phone number will stay active.
The final trading days will be Wednesday 1st July through to Saturday 4th July, and we’d absolutely love to see as many of you as possible before the doors close. Whether you come to paint one last piece, pop in for a coffee and a chat, or just to say goodbye for now, it would mean the world 🌍 🫶🏼 take out kits can also be booked (details to follow) and a drop off date will be given to ensure they can be fired before the kiln is disconnected.
After that, it’ll be firing everyone’s remaining pottery, packing everything up and selling items that aren’t going into storage. Remaining pot collections following the last day can be dropped off locally or by appointment. We will also be organising an open day to sell some the café equipment and furniture, including fridges, freezers, tables, chairs, shelving, crockery, glasses and more, so keep an eye on the page if that’s something you’d be interested in.
There’s a lot to process over the coming weeks, so if I’m a little quieter than usual, please bear with me while I navigate everything.
Finally, thank you! 🫶🏼 Thank you to every single person who has painted a pot, brought a friend, celebrated a birthday, attended a workshop, recommended us, shared our posts or simply believed in my little dream. You’ve helped create something incredibly special, and I’ll always be grateful.
This may be the end of this chapter, but I truly don’t believe it’s the end of the story.
See you before Saturday ❤️
