Deeply disappointed and saddened.
Last night, Saturday 7th February, at approximately 8:40pm, a man came into Chocoberry Banbury with his family, sat at the table in the corner, placed an exceptionally high-value order, ate the food in full, and then left without paying.
We understand that when it gets busy, waiting can be frustrating. Our staff are human. They work as fast and as hard as they possibly can to keep things moving and to make sure everyone is served fairly. But impatience does not justify stealing.
Every single order represents long hours, rising costs, staff wages, rent, and the personal sacrifices that go into keeping our doors open. When someone chooses to eat and walk out, it is not a victimless act. It directly takes from people who are doing their best to earn an honest living.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that this happened in front of a family. A meal was enjoyed, then a choice was made, and a message was silently taught. That part hurts more than the money.
