Making gelato at Smooth…
It all starts with the amazing milk & cream delivered to us at the crack of dawn from Draynes Farm. From the outset we wanted to use as much local produce as possible and to be in a position to support our dairy industry at the same time is an incredible bonus.
As well as local dairy we use a range of ingredients sourced from around our shores such as rhubarb, wild honey, natural yoghurt, berries, apples, foraged elderflower, and we even use sugar refined from UK grown sugar beets. We’ve been meticulous with every single ingredient choice and we hope it shows in the quality of our gelato.
We’ve paired up our local ingredients with some amazing offerings from around the globe. We’re proud to showcase really unique produce such as the Peruvian chocolate we use in our dark chocolate sorbet, Fresh Madagascan Vanilla pods for our Vanilla gelato, Amalfi lemons for our lemon sorbet, Italian Amarena cherries for our Ricotta & sour cherry gelato or the Sicilian pistachio we use to create our luxurious pistachio gelato.
Creating these flavours from scratch has been a labour of love and we’re thrilled to finally share them with you.
