❤️ A MESSAGE FROM FAT WILLY’S PUB ❤️

This is a post we never really wanted to have to write, but Sunday 4th October will be our final day at Fat Willy’s Pub.

There are a variety of reasons behind our decision, but the biggest one is a very happy one — we have a baby on the way, and it’s time for us to put our family and family life first. ❤️

It’s mad to think how far we’ve come. We started out with our wee chip van in Dunaghy, moved on to Ballybrakes, and eventually took the leap into Fat Willy’s Pub.

Along the way we’ve met so many brilliant people. To every single customer who has called in, supported us, had a pint, ordered food, came to the music, watched the football or simply stopped for a chat — thank you. And to all of our amazing staff, past and present, a massive thank you for everything you’ve done and for being part of the Fat Willy’s story.

The hospitality industry is incredibly tough at the minute. It’s a very different world from the one we first started out in, and we genuinely hope things change and that more support is given to the industry. Our pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants are such an important part of our towns and communities, and we want to see them thrive again.

We’re sad to be closing the doors, but we’re also excited for what’s ahead for our family.

And we’re not going quietly! 🍻🎶

This Friday 25th September at 9pm, Roger Boyd will be joining us for his final night at Fat Willy’s (no innuendos pls!! )

Then we’ve got one last week together before we close the doors on Sunday 4th October.

So come down, have a drink with us, enjoy the music and help us give Fat Willy’s the send-off it deserves.

Let’s lift the roof off Fat Willy’s for one final week! ❤️🍻

I was in Ballymoney this morning grabbing coffee when I ran into Paddy and Stanley, as they were getting ready for today's arm wrestling competition in Fat Willy's Pub.

Stanley gave me a few tips and, naturally, I had to have a go out on the street. I think it’s fair to say the raw talent is there… it’s just been very well hidden for the past 40-odd years. 😂💪

The competition gets underway from 1pm today in Fat Willy’s, so call down, have a go and enjoy the craic!

And a big good luck to Paddy, who’ll be battling it out as he attempts to claim the Irish Number 1 ranking! 🏆
