What a week at Carsington Waterside! 🌊🚲🔨👨‍💻💡

There’s been so much progress on site this week and it’s been fantastic to welcome Steve and Tim as they get started bringing everything together behind the scenes.

We can’t wait to meet the rest of our new team very soon and start building something really special here at Carsington Water.

A huge thank you to our builders too, who have really pushed on this week — the transformation is well underway and every day we’re getting a step closer to opening.

Our Pizza Truck and Food Trailer are now open every Friday and Saturday evening throughout the summer, serving freshly made stone-baked pizzas alongside a delicious menu of burgers, loaded fries, hot dogs and more.

Whether you’re finishing a bike ride on the Monsal Trail, meeting friends after work, or simply looking for a relaxed place to enjoy dinner outdoors, we’ve got you covered.

The Monsal Trail is one of the most beautiful places to explore by bike, with stunning views like this from the iconic Monsal Head Viaduct.

Whether you’re cycling, walking, running or enjoying a family day out, a little courtesy goes a long way:

Excited for this new project 🌊🚲

Exciting news for visitors to Carsington Water!

We’re delighted to announce that Carsington Waterside will be opening at Carsington Water this summer as our new leisure operator 🚲

Following the sad liquidation of our previous operator last year, we’re really pleased to welcome an experienced team with a fantastic track record in outdoor leisure and visitor experiences. You may already know them from successful businesses including Hassop Station Café & Bike Hire.
Initially, visitors will be able to enjoy bike hire, with paddlesports launching later this summer. There may also be even more exciting activities to come in the future 👀

We’re also pleased to share that we are currently in the process of arranging a lease with a new fishery operator, which we expect to be in place by Spring 2027 🎣

We’re looking forward to seeing Carsington Waterside become a great addition to the reservoir and helping even more people enjoy the outdoors at Carsington Water.
