Hello everyone,

Following our post regarding the break-in at Villa Verde The Nightjar yesterday, we wanted to share this message again as the original post was removed from the Aylesbeare Buzz page by an admin. We are disappointed that, instead of helping to raise awareness of this incident, the post was taken down.

We would like to make one final polite request to the parents of the three boys involved. Please speak with your children and ask them to return the keys that were taken from the premises. If the keys are returned promptly, we would prefer to resolve this matter without involving the police.

However, if we do not hear from anyone or the keys are not returned, we will have no option but to report the incident to the police.

Hello to everyone,

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close Villa Verde The Nightjar, effective from this week.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the loyal customers who supported us throughout our journey. Your kindness, encouragement, and continued custom have meant a great deal to our team, and we are truly grateful.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to create a welcoming restaurant and become part of the local community, we did not receive enough support to make the business sustainable. Running an independent local business is incredibly challenging, and without consistent support from the community, it simply becomes impossible to continue.

We hope this serves as a gentle reminder of how important it is to support local businesses. They bring jobs, investment, choice, and life to a village, but they can only survive when the community chooses to support them. Once a local business closes, it is often gone for good, and the whole community loses something valuable.

To everyone who stood by us, thank you once again. We would be delighted to welcome you at our other Villa Verde restaurants, where the same passion, quality, and warm hospitality continue. We hope to see you again soon.

From all of us at Villa Verde, thank you for being part of our journey, and we wish the local community all the very best for the future.
