Today we have another new keg beer for The Ale Way, Shangri-La, an IPA from Arbor.

The beers we have recently had from Arbor have been fantastic and really popular. This one is another which is full of flavour and very refreshing. Grab it whilst you can.

It's Cask Ale Week from tomorrow and runs across the next 2 weekends, so we've got some cracking beers lined up.

We start with what may be the best of the 6 from the next 2 weeks, Sauvin Sunshine, a pale ale from Quantock. We had this "special" last year and it went down really well. Floral and hoppy, it's absolutely beautiful.

Next up is a new one from Firebrand, an IPA called Zephyr. It has a bitterness to it and a pleasant flavour. Not quite what I was expecting, which is always a nice surprise, when it tastes this nice.

Lastly is County Best, a bitter from Exeter Brewery. Their Lighterman and Ferryman have been very popular recently and this one should be no different. A really good, traditional bitter with a strong flavour.

Tickets for our casino night on the 17th October are selling fast and we now only have 15 left.

The event is being run by a professional company and there will be a Roulette and a Black Jack table set up for you to play.

A buffet will also be included in the price of the ticket, which will be catered by the Railway Kitchen.

This will also be a great opportunity to dress to impress and there will be a prize for the best dressed person.

We have a new stout on keg from today, Black Stuff from Firebrand. We've had the cask version on a couple of occasions and it's always been very popular. This one has a traditional flavour and a nice creamy feel.

Don't forget that we'll have pizzas tomorrow evening from 5.30pm, cooked by Jack from Railway Kitchen. Get here early to grab a table outside.

This week we have three brand new cask beers to The Ale Way.

First up is one which I've been looking forward to trying since I ordered it a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't disappoint. It's a hazy pale ale called Best of Both Worlds, led by main brewer Arbor but in collaboration with Utopian, the brewer of our resident lager. It has a tangy fruitiness to it and also a nice bitterness. It's really nice and bound to be popular.

Next up is a really pale IPA from Bristol Beer Factory called Party Wave. Their beers have been flying off the shelf in the past few weeks and this one is sure to be no different. It's a bit more subtle in flavour to the hazy pale but very tasty.

Lastly we have an amber ale from Teignmouth called DAB. Only 3.4% abv but with a really distinct flavour. Teignmouth's Portside, which we had on a couple of weeks ago, divided opinion but this one should be more popular with its more traditional bitter taste.

Really hard to choose my beer of the week this week but I think I'll opt for Party Wave.
We'll also have a new stout on keg, probably tomorrow, as there’s only a handful of Theakston's Barista pints left. I'll put out an update when it changes....

Next Saturday sees the next in our summer collaborations with Railway Kitchen.

Jack will be making his fabulous pizzas again, served up from 5.30pm. Details on what flavour toppings will be available will be anounced nearer the time.

This week we have 3 beers new to The Ale Way on cask, though we have had a couple of them on keg before; will the cask versions prove to be better? (We all know the answer to that!😉.)

First up we have a beer made with hops from one of my favourite European countries, Slovenian Rhapsody, a golden ale from Hop Back. Fantastic name, fantastic flavour, this really has something about it. I must remember to wear my Loo-Blah-Nah brewery t-shirt at some point over the weekend.

Recently appearing on keg, we have the cask version of An Howl, the IPA from Firebrand. You don't often see this in cask so it's well worth grabbing whilst you can. It's a fabulous pint and gets my beer of the week award.

Finally we have Milk Stout from Bristol Beer Factory. This used to be our go-to stout on keg as it was extremely popular but they stopped making the keg version so I've finally got round to giving the cask a go. And it doesn't disappoint; nice hints of coffee and a lovely creamy mouth feel. Will it do better than Theakston's Barista stout which has been flying out of the keg over the past weekend? Not much left of that one if anyone still hasn't tried it…
