Aviemore, and most of the surrounding area, is very much open for business! There are still areas of Abernethy & Glenmore Forest which are not accessible due to the ongoing wildfire operations. Thankfully, so far, we have not seen any signs of the wildfire or smoke in Aviemore itself.

As always please check for wildfire related closures and respect the operations which are still ongoing.

While a small section of the National Park remains temporarily closed for safety because of the wildfire, the vast majority of the Cairngorms, and our local businesses are fully open and excited to host visitors.

If you are planning a visit:
✅ Explore the endless open trails, attractions, and local spots open across the wider Park.

⚠️ Check the latest guidance and avoid the specific closure areas around Abernethy Forest, Ryvoan Boathy and Glenmore Forest (including any active road cordons).
