Hi everyone,
I wanted to share that I, Emran, have made the decision to retire and officially stepped away from working at Shapla Tandoori Restaurant on Wednesday, 8th October 2025. This was not an easy decision for me to make, but it felt like the right time.
Belal and I first opened the restaurant on Thursday, 11th September 1986. Nearly 40 years on, I look back with immense pride and gratitude. Over the decades, we have welcomed countless guests, watched families grow over generations, and built lifelong friendships with so many wonderful customers.
I am truly thankful for the incredible support and kindness shown to me over almost four decades. There are many people who helped along the way, and I would especially like to mention some of the people and their families who supported us when I first came to Attleborough and when the restaurant was just getting started in 1986. They are Brian Skipper, John Rapley, Robert Plumley, Colin Hales, Ingram Shaw, and Peter Wilsey. I am deeply grateful for all the local support in this lovely town. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
